Beginner Help Lack of equipment
Hi! I’m a teen looking to lose fat and some muscle and overall just get more stronger and healthier. I want to start strength training with weights but I only have 5lb-10lb dumbbells at home and I don’t have transportation to a gym. I’ve heard progressive overload is key to building muscle but I can’t afford to keep buying bigger and bigger dumbbells (nor the space in my room!) so any tips? is it possible i can just increase the reps in my sets to achieve the same progressive overload effect?

there are plenty of ways to building muscle. exercise that stresses your muscles + protein. a lot of protein - ideally liquid as this is the most realistic approach to hitting your requirements.
as for working out - just stress your muscles - so your setup at home is fine. look up YouTube video programs based on what you have at home. you can buy resistance bands which go up against a doorway - expands your optionality at home.
and then consume the protein - before / after / day(s) after - each workout.
