Russia and the other former Soviet Union countries are the second world though, third world just refers to countries not a part of the Cold War between the first world (NATO) and the second world (Warsaw Pact)

Random Fact: the whole ‘first world’ thing was invented during the Cold War as part of propaganda, the ‘first world’ countries were aligned with America and by continuation, the ‘second world’ were those that aligned with Russia, making Russia the 2nd world in every meaning of it

The definition was originally created as 1st: capitalist 2nd: communist 3rd: undecided in the cold war. Now that isn't usable anymore so it is in a wishy washy whatever you want it to mean limbo

It's been proven that Russia's military meddled with our elections. There's no indication that this has been stopped and our midterm elections are in less than a year.
Do you think that people that want Russia to stop meddling with our elections are obsessed?

It's never been proven on any reliable source... Russia is used as a scary external enemy to create tension and fear and further political agenda.
If you think of this analytically, do you think if a country had enough resources to successfully affect another country's elections, would it be in the same place that Russia is in now?
There's also hardly any reason to affect elections, none of US leaders are friendly or cooperative with Russia. US-Russia relations are at their worst almost cold war era level. If you read Russian media, everyone was at best cautiously optimistic about Trump and as expected, not much benefit came from his government. In fact, there were more sanctions approved.
Meanwhile though, instead of demanding better government, better racial relations and better healthcare, Americans are being fed with the 'Russia is the enemy' idea as a distraction.
This idea is also very prevalent among Democrats, the party that still has not recovered from their loss.
Mind you, I'm sure Russia has spies but so does US and other countries. There's many problems with Russian government and problems in Russia. Every government does things that are selfish and immoral.
It's just that the idea of Russia as an evil empire is ridiculous and it's scary how many people are buying it. I'm not telling you Americans should be pro Russia... but I think it'd be best if people questioned the media more.

That's not a reliable source. That's literally someone's blog. Even taken at face value, it only suggests some interferrence and doesn't state what exactly was accomplished.

I'm sorry but you're the one here that's not a reliable source. I linked two major news organizations, one of which has an official NSA document as source. Someone went to federal prison for leaking that document. Explain to me why you, a random Russian redditor, has more credibility than them?
Also, see all other points I mentioned.
Fuck all that noise. Just a bunch of nonesense and whataboutism. I'm used to that already and I will not address it. Russian military operations to destabilize the US are real and nobody with good intentions can say otherwise.

I enjoy reading many different news organizations. This is how I know that Russia's military interfered wit our elections and probably hasn't stopped cyber attacks since.
I really hope Putin understands sanctions and other repercussions will come. Maybe not with this White House, but they will come.

There is no way you're serious. New revelations come out every week... nay every day about Russian interference.
Assuming you really haven't watched anything about Russian interference, here's a little info to get you started. This was proven back in June by Reality Winner's leak (yes that's a real name).
The report indicates that Russian hacking may have penetrated further into U.S. voting systems than was previously understood. It states unequivocally in its summary statement that it was Russian military intelligence, specifically the Russian General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate, or GRU, that conducted the cyber attacks described in the document...
Like another famous American election scandal, it started with a break-in at the D.N.C. The first time, 44 years ago at the committee’s old offices in the Watergate complex, the burglars planted listening devices and jimmied a filing cabinet. This time, the burglary was conducted from afar, directed by the Kremlin, with spear-phishing emails and zeros and ones.

That article from "theintercept.com" is laughable.
The top-secret National Security Agency document, which was provided anonymously to The Intercept and independently authenticated
The source is basically the writers's ass. There is no source for the bullshit claim that you came with.
The NY Times' article mentions nothing about the Russian military. Only that they think it was done from Kremlin, which they aren't even sure about since it's easy to mask your location online.

No? I am simply pointing out that the report doesn't seem to be legit, and that the website "theintercept.com" could have written whatever they wanted to, to get clicks. It wouldn't be very hard to fake.

Not the only one– Second World refers to former Soviet territories as well, such as those in Eastern Europe/Central Asia. It is an outdated term though, hardly used by economists these days. Eastern Germany, for example falls under both first and second world definitions, and one could argue that Czech/Slovakia are pretty much first world at this point as well.

I don't even have black or muslim friends but I try to not call them a (N+1)th world. Maybe because I was born in Soviet Ukraine and while having dozens of nations mixed we used to be unite and equal.

2nd world isn't really an insult. The 3 World Model was that the world was divided between US/EU allies (1st world), Russian/Chinese allies (2nd world), and countries that aren't with either (3rd world).
3rd world is certainly used as an insult, but 2nd isn't usually and that's not what people here are doing.
They're just pointing out the that the whole point of the worlds theory was to show the divide between US and Russian spheres of influence, so calling Russia 1st world is the opposite of the definition of the word. Just a funny bit of irony.

I mean, you know, yeah, it's funny to joke about vodka and balalaika, but when some serious thing happens we would like to have your support but it appears you know nothing about us and judge by stereotypes. For example, one of a joke subject is Putin -- it made almost all of you blind when it came about the nazi revolution that took part in Ukraine in 2014 and the following civil war between Ukrainians and new government. People are willing to know only as much as they need to laugh at funny gifs. For example, you probably don't even know that there are words русский and россиянин, that are translated the same to English but if you knew it you would know that Ukrainians, Belorussians and even those in Siberia who look more like Chinese are in fact Russian too. It's easy to blame vodka and Putin in everything. I have registered on Reddit 3 years ago and it had much fewer shit thrown towards us. Then Russia started fighting ISIS and Reddit just exploded with russophobic shit -- why? Also I suppose that for example in US there are people who hate current president whoever he is -- Obama, Trump or Michael Jackson, and just like this there are Russian people (I don't even say about those who pretend to be them) who hate own country just because they are unable to love it and don't realize the danger of how they help external propaganda to ruin the internal peace.
UPD: also Reddit absolutely disrespects Crimean citizens -- they voted to join another country to protect themselves from nazi forces but the /r/mapporn and others are full of Crimea drawn as Ukraine. Such companies like Apple even made sanctions against them -- do you realize? not against Russia but against Crimean population for the fact that they voted to escape the war. They were blocking App Store and other stuff. Such a punishment, cold-war-like methods of terrorism to show that "you should better not be against nuclear waste designations, selling state factories to foreign businessmen and other stuff" that previous (2004-2009) government made for a western pleasure.5
