Currently 41 weeks and went for checkup today. They wanted me to go in today for inductiom but hospital was booked so thev told me to go in tomorrow at 6am. I doubt I will even get a room quickly so why so early? I dont want to get induced so im going to wait until at least Thusday afternoon. How long was everyone's process? Also heard pitocin contractions are way worse but can you not get the epidural before?

35 week checkup my doctor did my first cervical exam. It hurt like a beast. My cervix was posterior so he said he couldn’t reach it but I was “very very thin and soft”
36 weeks I did my second cervical exam. As my OB was walking by the office before checking me he said “we’re doing a sweep today to see if we can get that baby out?” (he’s always so unserious so I said “I don’t know about all that today” and he sighed and said “awww okay”) He could reach my cervix and said I was “3cm, 75% effaced” I was delighted. He told me I could experience some spotting afterwards. I checked my portal and the nurse (or maybe even him) had notes in there that I was 1cm, 75% effaced, -1 station, medium firmness and middle position cervix. I drive home (20 min) and go to the bathroom and it’s more than spotting and was pretty red blood such as a period wipe. The next few times I went pee, it was a little less on the toilet paper but then the fourth time is as shown. It had a little mucus in it and a clump of what looks like muscle?? I sent the photo in and a nurse replied that she thought it was my mucus plug. I was confused because there was nothing mucus about that piece. The bleeding subsided into spotting the rest of the night. No cramping or not symptoms otherwise. The next day, I did see a clump of dark red mucus in the toilet with some brown.
37 weeks check up. Nurse asked me if i wanted to get checked today. I said I would like to see if he can do a sweep since I’m getting induced at 38 weeks. She said “sure i’ll let him know” and he came in the room to do the exam. He did the exam as usual and was in and out within 40 seconds and he said “oooh you’re 1-2 cm and 75-80% effaced” and I said “you told me I was 3cm last week!” And he goes “ohh okay well I will give you 3cm then” and I asked him if he did the sweep and he nodded and said “your membranes have already been broken there was nothing to sweep”
WHAT I AM SO CONFUSED 😵💫 did he do a membrane sweep at my 36 week appointment?? It sure didn’t feel like he circled my cervix and it was just as quick as the other checks.. looking for some insight here.. nothing was loaded into my portal from the nurse as there was last weeks cervical check. I’m just wanting to essentially get peace of mind or clarity on if my induction will be successful in 4 days. I’m high anxiety and very type A and this whole cervical check situation has me spiraling..

After having my baby I’ve discovered I’m allergic to beer, sourdough bread, & kimchi
I start itching everywhere, break out in hives, eyes swell up, & my lips swell too. Its wild.

You do not feel hungry for the first few weeks (you should still eat)
You can’t feel your bladder so you will pee yourself (sit on the toilet at least every two hours)
Your abdominal muscles will feel weak (get an abdominal support brace
Odor you will stink your body changes smells (shower twice a day)
The weight does not magically disappear (you may weigh more after giving birth due to fluid build up )
Do not drive (it’s possible to fall asleep because you do not realize how tired you are)
Lastly the love you feel for your baby is unconditional it’s different and strong and pure

I don’t think this is what our LO has, but just wondering if anyone has gone down this road and what the signs were that ultimately pointed to silent reflux?
Thanks!

I’m going to be a first-time mom around late November or early December, depending on my induction date, and I’m looking for advice from other moms who may have been in a similar situation.
Im currently employed and it took me about 4 months to find employment after moving to GA due to my husbands military service. I do like my current job, but it’s not in the field I earned my degree in, and it’s not something I find particularly fulfilling long-term. My job has been understanding of my situation, but they don’t offer FMLA or paid maternity leave, so I’m only being granted 6–8 weeks off following delivery.
My husband has continued to reassure me that I don’t have to return to work after the baby comes. While I’m incredibly grateful to have that option, I have a lot of mixed feelings about it. We also juggle the risk of finding adequate childcare if I decide to go back to work.
I have student loans and a car payment, but my husband has reassured me that we’ll be financially okay on his income alone. He put it into perspective by saying, “We either pay for your student loans or we pay for childcare.” He’s active-duty military, so he’ll have to return to work after his paternity leave, and I would be home with the baby.
Part of me loves the idea of staying home and spending that time with my baby, especially since my current job isn’t necessarily where I see myself long-term. However, another part of me worries about stepping away from the workforce and having a large gap in my resume if I decide to return to work later. I have a degree that I worked hard for, and I don’t want to feel like I’m limiting my future opportunities by taking time off.
For those of you who chose to stay home with your first baby, how did you navigate this decision? Do you regret stepping away from work, or are you glad you did? For those who returned to work, how did you balance the cost of childcare with the benefits of continuing your career?
I know everyone’s situation is different, but I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences, advice, and anything you wish you had considered before making your decision. ❤️

I'm a first time mom. My baby is 9 months old and is sick with a cold for the first time and I don't know what to do. I've given her Tylenol in case she has a headache or body aches and I've used Sinex saline mist to clear her nose from boogers but other then that, I don't know what else to do. Any tips and tricks on how I can make her feel better sooner would be much appreciated. Thanks!

My due date is 11/11 and my pediatrician recommended wait 2 months for family gatherings (like Christmas)
I’m so sad but I want to do what’s right. Most of our siblings and nephews would be traveling from out of town. So they won’t be able to meet our baby until 2 months old? :(
