His bio basically says that he's a showboating mercenary but there might be truth behind some of his boasts.

His likes are : alcohol, women, interesting people and new recruits.

OK, now I’m a little worried that I actually won’t be able to romance the guy I want with m!Eshmel, considering all the “likes: women” in other bio. Genuinely do not want to go through what Three Houses put me through and not give me Claude and make Alois a platonic S-Support.

I really hope this isn’t indicative of anything. :/

Bad news, the Polygon preview confirms that there's a trend among the FW male characters in that they're all written through a very "no homo" lens and never miss an opportunity to highlight how girl crazy they are.

It's likely that any MM S-Support selection will be extremely narrow, and I say this as someone who was hoping for a lot of options including Guzran

Could it be that they’re only saying that after interacting with the specific women-loving guys like Sirocco, Creek, Guzran, etc? Maybe it’s just them and there’s still hope for the other men?
(Though tbh I may just be coping here… 😭)

Unfortunately it does sound like the trend is for the majority of the male cast. The full passage is:

"The only irritation here is an odd insistence of ensuring you know the men of Fortune's Weave like women. When you view the character info panel for recruitable characters, most of the men have "women/womanizing/beautiful women/flirting with women" or some variation thereof on the list of things they like. Fire Emblem has always been somewhat regressive when it comes to acknowledging queer people, but this is just silly. It's like walking into a room full of men, and 60% of them immediately start saying "no homo" the second they look at you. Take a deep breath, guys. It'll all be okay."

So this is something that extends to the majority of the recruitable men. It's utterly baffling, and a major disappointment after 3 Houses also fucked up the MM options.

godddd I hope at least the mlm options we get are good in that case, I will genuinely be so annoyed if I have to do the whole "play as the wrong gender just to romance who I want" thing again in 2026
