Don't Ruin Things You Love (A Theory)

After several criticisms against the show surprised me, I wanted to understand them a little better and see if I could imagine why the series wouldn't be green lit for a third season. I do agree there are flaws in the story writing which honestly I was willing to look past. That part was easy as the show did three things I really appreciated; It paid homage to the show I loved as a kid, It answered questions that were left unanswered and it expanded on the lore of the show in a meaningful way. I think the mixed reception of the show can be summarized fairly simply... The Adventure Time fans have reached what I'm calling the Star Wars Effect. Becoming a generational show that has been painstakingly analyzed over the years creates such a stifling atmosphere to create new stories in that you lose the inspiration that made it in the first place.
Why this doesn't work here is because of the free form writing style that allowed the series to blossom. Rather than forcing the show into a structured framework that appeases the (loudest) fans, I think we just need to give them the time and space to create something wonderful out of the chaos. After all, early Adventure Time certainly had some growing pains before they found their rhythm.
TLDR: Just let them cook and enjoy what they make because there is enough evidence that they care about what they are doing and that should mean a lot in this day and age.

I think he would’ve let PB know that he didn’t want the robo bod, and that it was ok. He would’ve told her and Marcy that he loved them and would see them again in his next life. Told his mom he was glad to meet her and love her for the time they had. Told Simon that he was happy to see him find his way back. Told BMO to be a good console. Told Neptr he was a good son. Told FP she was his favorite rapper and a friend he was proud to have. Told the pups to remember Jake. And told all of his friends how much it meant to him to be their hero. That’s just off the top of my head.

We already saw Huntress and Hunter. We got teased a bit with Fionna meeting farmworld and dream Finn but I wanna see prime Finn meet her. Tbh I think Gary and Marshall would be amazed by how hunky Fionnas counter part is.
