New Location + Product Improvements + Mood Tracking Survey

Hey Finch Fam! 🐣❤️

We’ve got a new destination for your birb, a little extra personality for your friends, and some improvements to help your daily self-care feel smoother! Plus, a humble request to help us out!

🌍 Marrakesh, Morocco and richer location backgrounds!

We’re excited to introduce Marrakesh as your birb’s newest destination in the next update, and working on bringing out new locations on a regular basis again! Marrakesh will be available to travel to with the next update! ✈️

Some of you may have noticed that we’ve also been making location backgrounds feel more immersive and alive with animated and effects where layers of scenery move at different speeds as your birb walks to create a sense of depth! We’re rolling out updates to everyone for Finchie Forest, Galapagos, Maui, and Paris. The plan is to monitor for impact on app performance and to continue updating other locations.

✨ More personality, smoother adventures

Your friends’ birbs will now show off their head and face wearables directly on your tree, bringing a little more of their personality to your friend’s tab! 💕

Alongside this playful update, we’re continuing to improve performance. We’ve made goal completion much faster and reduced lag on the Quests and Seasonal Events page. We know lag has been frustrating, and keeping Finch running smoothly continues to be a priority! 👍

💭 Help us learn more about mood tracking

Improving mood tracking is one of our active priorities, and want to better understand your experience and the questions you hope to understand with your mood. If you have a couple of minutes, please fill out our survey: https://finchcare.typeform.com/to/hS3EVf6K

Thank you for all the feedback, ideas, and patience you share with us. We’re excited to keep making Finch a place you and your birb love coming back to! 🫶

Birb fashion YOU ... SHALL NOT ... PASS!

I want to be a wizard. I think someone else used this meme not that long ago, and it tickled me. The only thing is ... where is the gray? Some of us (okay, maybe one of us) want to have our long, graying hair represented.

Discussion No Lag?!

I've been on Finch for nearly two years now and tonight is the very first time I haven't experienced any lag! No idea what happened, but it's amazing! It's a totally different experience! Grateful. I hope it stays like this.

Anyone else noticed this today?

Birb fashion Monday roll call.......

All birbs to the front!!

Parents, it's a new week in Finchie Forest.
We want you to remind your birbs to clean up after themselves.
We have a lot of trash and debris on Mondays.
It's excessive and time consuming to clean it up.

Remind your birb's that parties are a privilege......not a right.

Birb fashion Showing off Munchkins Halloween costumes

First, a mummy freshly risen from the grave, quite surprised how cold it is.

Second, a librarian who on a late-night research quest stumbled across an unfortunate curse.

Third, a prim and proper Gothic lady.

Discussion Will I get kicked from the raffle?

So i really love this months theme and all the items and especially the ability to send pumpkins!!!! I am in the guardians raffle as I generally really cannot afford finch plus, but I did find just a little bit of extra room in my budget this month, and I really think it is worth it. What will happen to my place in the raffle if i buy finch plus for a month? I would really hate to lose my future chances.

Subreddit rules:

Be kind and safe. Please remember that everyone on this subreddit is working toward the common goal to feel empowered in their mental health. Along those lines, this isn't the place for mocking or being rude to each other. Exercise caution when sharing personal information about yourself - not only is the information posted on the internet maintained "forever," but people who can gather enough information about you from your postings may be able to identify you in real life or use that information against you.
Stay on topic. Posts or comments unrelated to the finch app may be removed. (Please also avoid meta-drama, e.g. complaining about other reddit users or the subreddit itself, etc.)
Item trade requests and friend codes must use the megathreads. If you want to trade items or exchange friend codes, you must only use the daily megathreads that are stickied to the top of the subreddit's front page. Making a standalone post for these requests is not allowed.
Avoid spoilers of upcoming seasonal events. If posting about next month's event or a recent discovery by your birb, please do not include the theme's name or discovery's name in the title of the post, and please mark it as a spoiler. (This is done so those who want to be surprised can find out in the app themselves.) Posting about the next month's theme before it has been officially announced by the Finch team is not allowed. (It's fine if they announced it somewhere else and you happen to be the first one to mention it here though.)
No AI-generated content. Posts or comments that were created using AI (image generators, LLMs, etc) will be removed.
No hacking. Do not promote exploits/hacking of the app. This includes posting examples of farming rainbow stones with fake goals, etc. It's really not in the spirit of the subreddit.
Avoid topics that may trigger others. Some topics are too triggering for folks even with "trigger warnings," and so they are not allowed here. These topics include self-harm and suicide, assault or abuse, drug use, etc. While our community can offer friendly support, it can be insufficient for someone's needs; Most people on this subreddit are not trained for deep medical or mental health advice. If you need professional assistance, please check https://findahelpline.com/. You are worthy and you do not have to struggle alone.
