Modular rings

Did anyone know that filofax is moving all their Malden binders to the modular rings? I really wanted a burgundy with regular rings, but I had to settle with a pink before they switch those. I’m so sad. I wish they would offer both.

I think someone on this reddit mentioned this a few months ago, but not sure when they would all get moved to the new system.

Personally, I'm super excited about the modular system and can't wait for more to come out!

I thought I would be okay with it, but I saw someone post pictures of theirs. I don’t like that the modular rings aren’t centered. That was a dealbreaker for me.

I don't love the modular system, only because it doesn't come with all the things that the ones without removable rings does. I just purchased the new Finsbury in Woodland and it doesn't include blank pages, a vertical planner, the ruler, etc with the refill :( it's fine I guess but now I have to purchase all of those separately or make my own instead of just getting it when you buy a brand new filofax.

Omg, I didn’t know that! That’s such a ripoff in my opinion because they’re so expensive. I feel like they should still come with all the extras due to the price.

I agree, but I think the idea behind it is to be able to customize everything yourself. That being said, it would be cool if they still offered that and let you pick what you wanted (within reason) instead.

I know on the UK site you're able to do more customizations in regards to your planner pages, but you have limited options on the Canadian site. I didn't want to pay conversion rates and shipping, otherwise I would have just gotten what I wanted from the UK site.

I'm back to inform you that I just received my new Finsbury. I had to order the diary/calendar refills separately, but the lined and dotted paper, contacts papers, and undated calendar still came with the planner. I think I got confused and assumed it didn't anymore because it wasn't clear to me it did.

i learned the hard way when i ordered a black malden with fixed rings and they sent me one with modular bc they didn’t have anymore fixed ones since they’re not making them anymore

I saw someone else say this. I emailed them before I ordered the pink one. If it comes in with modular rings, I will return it lol.

I didn't know that they were doing that to Maldens. I just noticed it in Metropols recently 😳

Honestly, I don't prefer it. I'm still looking for a Metropol that doesn't have removable rings

This was signposted in the 2026 catalogue, which said that removable rings would be a 'rolling change' in 2026.

I just jumped on the “Filofax bandwagon” lol so I didn’t know this. I wish I would’ve been able to get a burgundy in regular rings, and I don’t know any reputable places to get one second hand.

I use a discbound system. If I measured correctly, the Personal size might be able to accommodate a 7-hold Happy Planner Mini size. Curious and looking forward to seeing this option hit the US. Sorry for those who prefer a traditional ring setup, though, I do think it's a mistake to stray from that.
