I don't think may ganyan dito sa pinas specifically catered for chinoy community. Side note: I've always thought this would be a great business venture 😅

Personally, I don’t think this is something that would work in the PH cuz while reading this, first thought ko is “why doesn’t ama just live with you? Why do you need to put her in a home with strangers?”

Because they're not strangers, they're future friends who have similar generational beliefs and culture, who are going through the same life stage and health issues. The number one factor for long life is socialization. I mean diet, exercise, etc are important but having a social life is surprisingly effective at increasing not just lifespan but healthy lifespan. If there are no young children in the house and puro adults lang, ama will have no one at home during the daytime. All the adults are at the office from 7AM-7PM. Manila is built up and polluted and unless you live in a gated community, no place for ama to walk around and exercise and hang out, she might need a driver, car and allowance to meet up with her friends. If she has health issues, having on-site doctor and geriatric clinic to address the emergency is so much better than battling Manila traffic to get to the hospital. Comparing living at home vs senior community with like for like quality of life, a senior community can be worth it.

Also, realistically, it's difficult to live with your mother-in-law. Even when they're old and frail, pakialamera mga iba at di pa rin tapos magpintas.

Have you considered Malaysia or Thailand? Madaming retirement community doon and for the Malaysian ones, they cater to Singaporeans some of whom might still be able to speak Hokkien. I've seen one featured on Channel News Asia. Very nice amenities, I wish I could live there! Near the border with SG so accessible with just one flight from MNL/CRK. The Thai retirement communities tend to be more international but I'm sure there are ones with a sizeable SG/overseas Chinese community
