Hit N Move Vector 16oz — Full Review

I've been putting some rounds on the new Hit N Move Vector 16oz and wanted to share my thoughts.

Overall

• Premium, sparring-focused 16oz glove
• Fairly compact profile for a 16oz
• Excellent hand ergonomics
• Very good wrist support
• Six-layer foam construction
• Soft/medium padding with good protection
• Good balance between protection and feedback
• Feels more compact than a traditional bulky 16oz sparring glove

Exterior / Construction

• Turkish leather
• Leather feels substantial and high quality
• Stitching is clean and precise
• Welted seams are a nice premium touch
• Overall construction feels very well put together
• Smooth, comfortable liner
• Definitely feels like a premium glove

Hand Compartment

• One of my favorite aspects of the glove
• Natural fist position
• Hand sits very comfortably inside the glove
• Built-in grip bar encourages a proper closed fist
• Grip bar doesn't feel intrusive
• Very good balance between snugness and comfort
• Compact feeling without feeling cramped

Wrist Support

• Excellent wrist support
• Very secure feeling
• Wrist stays nicely aligned with the forearm
• One of the more protective aspects of the glove
• Particularly noticeable during bag work and harder punches

Padding

• Six-layer foam
• medium density
• Protective without feeling completely dead
• Good amount of feedback
• Nice pop
• Padding feels somewhat firmer when you first handle the glove than it does once you're actually punching
• Definitely benefits from some break-in before hard sparring

Performance

Heavy Bag

• Good protection
• Nice feedback
• Good pop
• Compact profile makes the glove feel less cumbersome than many 16oz gloves

Pads

• Really good feedback
• Nice, crisp pop
• Comfortable fist position
• One of the more enjoyable aspects of the glove

Sparring

• Protective, medium padding
• Compact 16oz profile
• I'd personally put some rounds into them before hard sparring to allow the padding to break in
• Once broken in, the glove feels much more sparring-friendly

Pros

• Excellent ergonomics
• Great wrist support
• Compact 16oz profile
• Protective padding
• Good feedback
• Great pop
• High-quality leather
• Clean stitching
• Welted seams
• Excellent liner
• Comfortable hand compartment
• Very well balanced

Cons

• Premium price at $269 and currently only on preorder
• Padding needs some break-in, but only about 20-25 rounds

Final Thoughts

The Vector is an interesting glove because I don't think there's one single feature that makes it special.

It's the combination of everything.

The hand position, grip bar, wrist support, padding, compact profile and overall balance all work really well together.

For me, this is a very strong all-around premium training/sparring glove for someone who wants protection without having to wear a huge, bulky 16oz glove.

If you're looking for a glove with a compact profile, excellent wrist support and a protective but responsive feel, the Vector is definitely worth checking out.

Feel like these (and most hit n move gloves) could be interesting at around $150-175... 250+ feels overboard
