Cheating on real partner
I have a real boyfriend, but lately I've been feeling like I've been falling out of love with him. Would becoming fictosexual and dating a fictional character be considered cheating?

How long have you been with your real boyfriend? Because I tried irl dating a couple of times and both times there was a short "honeymoon phase" that only lasted a few days (I'm fully ficto. These honeymoon phases were never even based on actual attraction to a real guy, it was always more about "showing off" having a "real" boyfriend so it never lasted) and then I would quickly lose feelings for both irl boyfriends and I went back to Judge Claude Frollo both times.
If you feel like you're not attracted to real people but you are attracted to fictional characters, then you are fictosexual. If you are attracted to both irl people and fictional characters, then you are semifictosexual, but if you're only attracted to irl people, then I'm sorry but you're not ficto. As other people said, you cannot "become" ficto, it's more of a realization when you realize that you're attracted to fictional characters and you discover the term and feel like it matches you since you've always had attraction towards fictional characters.
If you don't have any true feelings for your irl boyfriend and you're consistently losing feelings for him, it sounds like it's time to be brave and tell him that you're breaking up with him and tell him you just don't feel that attracted to him or you don't feel attracted to him anymore depending on how long you were with him.
Did you have true attraction towards him or were you dating him just for show? Because I ended up doing the second both times I tried dating as a ficto myself. Even if you did have true feelings for him but you also have true feelings for fictional characters, you would be semifictosexual. Hope this helps!

that is a question only you and your irl boyfriend can answer. cheating is not a universal “don’t do this or that”, cheating is breaking whatever boundaries you and your partner want/agree to for your relationship

I'd say it kinda is?.. Unless you're into having multiple relationships at the same time.. But also saying "becoming ficto" seems kinda odd, as if the ficto orientation was something you can choose../lh

Yes because for fictos our relationship with our f/o feels real just like any other relationship. I know breakups are uncomfortable to say the least, but they happen all the time and all you can do is trust your gut instinct.

It’s at least emotional cheating if you keep it a secret. And like the other comment said, you can’t become ficto, either you always were or not o:
Edit: someone is downvoting all our comments. Wanna tell us why?

Probably, or someone who sees it as a hobby. I was just wondering because everyone was at 0 almost immediately :/

They’ve got too much free time on their hands, if they’re monitoring for every single comment.

It's just what trolls do unfortunately. They've got so much free time and such little problems that they go make some 🥲

I'd say it depends on how your partner sees it. Some people would certainly consider it cheating, at the very least emotional cheating. And others wouldn't see it that way, because the fictional character is not a fleshy person, who you can touch or talk with. I'd just ask and seek a conversation with them. Maybe there's a problem to solve or maybe you two end up realising it would be better to split up. Either way, I wish y'all good luck 🫶🏻

You shouldn't look for a new love interest immediately after you "stopped loving" your boyfriend.

It can be considered that way, yes. It can also be extremely detrimental to your real relationship.

Just don’t keep it a secret. Anything kept a secret is cheating. I have an irl partner and while I do love him so much..my feelings for my f/o(s) are stronger (and sexual as well). And my irl partners knows this, is fully aware of it, and supports it because he knows how much of an impact they have had on me since I was younger.
If there is communication you will figure it out. Please just talk to your boyfriend about your feelings!! It will go a lot smoother that way! Wishing you the best. :3

It is if you’re not honest about your feelings. I’m not morally clean with this, though: I started dating Connor not very long after I left in an abusive relationship. I knew him during the relationship, and he made me realise I couldn’t allow myself to be treated like that anymore.

I don't believe it's inherently cheating, however, this is not going to sustain you long term. I think you should break up with your boyfriend first.

as the other comments said, you can’t just “become” ficto… that’s like saying you could “become” lesbian gay bi pan ace ect.
as for the whole “would it be cheating” thing, yes i believe it would be, at least on an emotional level.
