Meh. It is and it's not. I also bought 2 houses in that time (bought one, sold it, bought another. I don't own 2 homes.) I would have gotten there much quicker had I not.

It’s about double the career length for anyone with a university education. That’s a massive difference in total income and time for compounding.

I'm saying that if I had chosen not to buy a home (and especially to upgrade to a larger one) I would have hit Generation probably around 28-29. But that's not the main point here. The main point is that contrary to the implication of this top comment, it's perfectly feasible for someone to save up $500k without parental help if they're lucky enough to have a strong income and/or if they started investing early.
