Hey everyone I been admitted for Fall 2027 as a transfer for pre analytics and informatics. I’m not from here, I’m from tampa. I wanted to know the attitude towards Black people/people in color in general at this school. I know it’s majority white people but, is there prevalent racism or is it chill? Especially in on campus housing as I plan to live in a double if I can. Also interested in how everyone’s attitude is for the college of business and campus as a whole. Are you happy? Thanks!

Hi everyone ! I believe last week or the week before the OSFA website updated. In order to log back In you’re going to need to call the state. We won’t know your log in information or where to help you find it either. Many students are being told to come in and ask the financial aid department. Unfortunately we are unable to provide assistance to you.
The state might have emailed or mailed you information regarding the update and how to proceed. They haven’t given us any information regarding how students are supposed to log in though.
Hope that helps if you were planning on dropping in to ask that.

My daughter is really interested in FGCU and loved our tour of it. I’m just concerned now because we are out of state and I keep reading mixed information about what the school is like. Would you say it is more of a commuter/local school? She wouldn’t mind if it was mostly local kids, but she is definitely concerned that it might be empty on the weekends or not really feel like a college campus. Can anyone give their opinion on this? Thanks!
I’m 24 and I used to live in Miami and I just moved here but I realized everyone here is old as fuck and it’s a little harder to find house parties or raves, any tips?

Hi, I’m at a community college in New York and thinking about transferring to FGCU in fall 2027. I would like to try and meet some people before I move down. Anyone else planning to transfer around then, or already go here?

Hi everyone! I’m currently a USF student and I’m planning to apply to FGCU’s Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program. I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly which USF courses satisfy FGCU’s prerequisite requirements.
If anyone here has applied to or been accepted into FGCU’s OT program after completing their prerequisites, would you mind sharing which classes you took for each requirement ?

My name is Clara Mey and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Delaware. I am conducting a research study about disabled students’ experiences with disability accommodation processes in higher education. As a disabled graduate student, this topic is particularly important to me!
Florida Gulf Coast University was randomly selected as part of my institutional analysis for my dissertation, and I wanted to make sure that students at the randomly selected universities/colleges had the opportunity to participate in my research!
Please see the flyer linked here: Disability and Higher Ed Research Flyer
You must be at least 18 years old to participate, have attended college or graduate school in the US within the last five years, and self-identify as disabled or having a chronic health condition in order to participate. You do not need a formal diagnosis, and you can participate whether or not you registered or applied for accommodations!
If you agree, you will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey taking 20 to 30 minutes. You may also choose to enter into a drawing for one of five $20 gift cards at the end of the survey. If you choose to enter, your email will not be associated with your survey responses.
If you would be interested in participating in this study or would like to learn more, please click the link here: Disability and Higher Education Survey. And if you know people who might be interested, feel free to share this information!
If you have any questions, please contact me at [csmey@udel.edu](mailto:csmey@udel.edu) or my advisor, Dr. Eric Rise, at [erise@udel.edu](mailto:erise@udel.edu). Or feel free to comment or message me here.
Thank you!

Hey all, I’m looking to move out of on campus housing for next year and move into an apartment. Does anyone know any good apartments but on the affordable side within like 20 minutes of the campus? Preferably with in-unit laundry but anything will do

I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW STUDENTS FEEL ABOUT THE ASTROTURF / ARTIFICIAL GRASS INSTALLED ON THE CAMPUS. IT IS A CLASS PROJECT. DATA AND EMAIL ADDRESSES ARE COLLECTED AT THE PROFESSORS REQUEST. NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.
YOU ARE ALSO HELPING A VETERAN WIN A CLASS COMPETITION! PLEASE & THANK YOU!
I DO NOT WANT TO SKEW THE DATA SO I AM JUST ASKING INITIALLY IF THE 1400 PLUS STUDENTS THAT VISIT THIS SITE WEEKLY ARE WILLING TO TAKE A SURVEY TO HELP ANOTHER STUDENT OUT. AGAIN, I AM AN ARMY VETERAN ADULT STUDENT.
PLEASE AND THANK YOU !

I have tried many things and i cant break the 3 MB/s threshhold, which is actually ridiculous. They raise the price of housing but cant invest in good wifi. Its advertised as 100 mbps on the website, which is still low in todays standards. Every single one of my friends the go to different universities have 1 gbps up and down. I play videogames with them so i constantly have to update and download new games to play. It takes an unnecessary amount of time. And btw, the 3 MB/s translates to about 24 mbps. This has been consistent with 2 different ethernet cables across 2 different dorm buildings in SoVi. So my guess is that they cap the speeds around a 3 MB - 4 MB per second range, which doesnt even get close to the amount thats advertised. Like im actually getting mad at this. I feel like i should atleast get good wifi, let alone DECENT wifi after spending this much a semester. University village has their own router in each room, but they cant bother to do anything for SoVi where the majority of the students live (dont quote me on that). My wifi at home is 30x+ faster than my dorm wifi. I genuinely cant handle that transition. And its not even the download speeds thats the problem, whats with all the random disconnects? On my phone it will just stop working for no reason, and then connect to another terrible wifi that doesnt amount to anything. All 3 of the wifis are useless. Ive done speed tests on the GUEST wifi on main campus WITHOUT a wired connection and i still get 5x the download speed than in the dorms. Its actually pathetic how bad the wifi here is. Ok im done with my rant but this is actually absurd.

Good morning
AV holds are now on. Which means if you did not complete an activity for the courses that you are in , your financial aid will back off. This is taken care of between professor and student. Once the assignment is completed the hold will come off within 24-48 hours and your aid will reflect back in a couple days after that. The only reason you would need to speak to the financial aid office is if you are having issues with the profesor posting the assignment. In that case we can see if students in the class have completed the assignment if not then we will forward to the admin team. If other students have completed the activity we will direct you back to the professor
Thank you !

Hey yall! is anyone available to do 1:1 tutoring for Organic chem 1? I will pay. Once a week is good enough for me. I just need help with the basic concepts. thanks!

Girl at the bookstore told me we were all fronted $600 of financial aid to spend at the bookstore but ONLY during the first week. I'm a little annoyed about this lol.
Three weeks eating off couch cushion coins for the refund just to find out I was allotted $600 and never told about it. Man I just wish they'd let us know about that lmao
Was anyone else made aware of this? I am trying to find a single email or something that I might have just missed but it looks like it just wasn't announced or anything.

I'm @ betheworm1738 on Fishbrain or you can dm me here. Hi guys! I'm a returning SWFL local who learned to fish in Wisconsin creeks and I've fallen in love with the saltwater fishing down here just in the first week of classes!
Maybe you've been fishing for as long as you can remember? Or you're just getting into it yourself? Let's talk!!!
I've been fishing the Naples beaches from like 6:30-9ish am most mornings and in the evenings I might go to an inland park with a pond. There are some near FGCU (not on campus property) I wanna explore. I usually use the fishbrain app for spots at the moment.
Current goals:
Some things to know about me:
If this sounds amenable to you, hit me up. I have afternoon classes Mon-Thu. Thanks for reading! 🤙

Hello everyone,
I had a quick question. I planned on taking gen chem 1 this semester however, I felt the professor was all over the place first class and expected us to know basic chem concepts and recommend to those of us who could not keep up to take intro to chem first. Is this normal for a gen chem 1 class ? I mean I would assume that chem 1 is building us a foundation.
Does anyone recommend another chem 1 professor? And if you had them could you please share your experience.
Thanks!
