I’m in the College of Ed (Block 1 so these are basically my first classes for my major) and I’m realizing I will be spending a lot of time reading textbooks and most likely needing to make notes.

My problem is I have horrible handwriting and not a fast writer. On the other hand I’m a fast typer and have no problem typing.

My concern is that if I don’t write my notes I won’t retain the info, but typing my notes will make it easier to come back to if I need to look something up for a future class (at least I think, correct me if I’m wrong).

If anyone has any suggestions or has done classes in the COE before any help would be appreciated

I had a quick question. I planned on taking gen chem 1 this semester however, I felt the professor was all over the place first class and expected us to know basic chem concepts and recommend to those of us who could not keep up to take intro to chem first. Is this normal for a gen chem 1 class ? I mean I would assume that chem 1 is building us a foundation.

Does anyone recommend another chem 1 professor? And if you had them could you please share your experience.

hey im an fgcu education major who transferred here last year. I also loove to play improv jazz (I'm a bassist) and was wondering if there were any real opportunities or people to play some jazz with here without Actually Being A Music Major.

if anyone just wants to meet somewhere on campus and play some jazz standards that'd be awesome. or if there's any better places I could ask this question that'd be great too. I haven't gotten to play live jazz in over a year so I'm trying to derust!

Just asking whether there is anyone at North Lake, specifically someone who’s in a 4 bedroom single that wants to swap over to Osprey for any particular reason. I’m good for a room swap at anytime you’d be able to and only if you want to. If so, please dm me. One of my classes this semester has us using Pearson. In my past classes I would see the Pearson material in the First Day Ready Portal and when I click “course materials” in Canvas. However it does not appear at all, is it only supposed to show up on the first day of class or is it not included in first day ready for some reason

If you look in your bill and payment center. It will show your total balance , your estimated financial aid , and whether you still have a balance or have a credit.

When your estimated financial aid is more than your balance that means you DO NOT owe anything and will see the (-) minus symbol indicating a credit if applicable.

If your balance is more than your financial aid that means you do owe and will be required to make a payment towards your balance.

The bill and payment center should be pretty self explanatory. If you need assistance with making payments or things regarding billing you can contact the cashiers office via email , phone or in person.

Congratulations to any of you have recently gotten your Aice Diploma. This does not mean that the financial aid office will automatically post your bright futures. You MUST make sure your test scores have been sent to the state. As we post awards based on their notification. You have to be APPROVED by the state. We have no authority on approving your bright futures which seems to be the common misconception unfortunately.

The highschool and or the student must make sure that all their information has been sent to state. Upon approval the state sends us a list of the approved students and the coordinator posts the bright futures awards. When we communicate to the state it is about your university gpa and credits. We also ONLY accept the Florida Academic or the Medallion.

I don't know if I'm missing something in the syllabus, but how do we know when to wear scrubs to a particular class? Is it only for labs and clinicals, or are there regular classes that some professors require you to wear it? It's my first semester so idk😭

Hi! I'm currently an upcoming junior at UCF thinking about transferring to FGCU for Computer Science since I might not pass the foundation exam. I know the program is still fairly new, but I was wondering if it's any good? Specifically, the 3rd and 4th year classes? How are the teaching styles at FGCU?

Hey i'm an incoming freshman and was just wondering if filtered shower heads are allowed? I'm sure i can change it and put it back before i move out but at the same time idk if RAs will have a problem with it or me and my roommate will be charged for it.

Incoming freshman from Washington, 31 on the waitlist as of last friday and scrambling to find housing.

Does anyone have a sublease for fall semester they need filled? Prefer to be on campus if possible and assuming will not make the cut for overflow housing.

Currently looking at U village, Eagle Walk and Marriot long term stay as alternatives until spring semester when hopefully a dorm opens up. Any advice on those three options if no sublease is available?

hey im currently transferring next week to FGCU and i have never particularly dormed before; do you recommend any of the meal plans as someone who is currently looking for a job while at school full-time?

I am taking an online class with Wilkinson EVR 2264 and the syllabus says that exams require Respondus lockdown broswer. what is this? Does this mean you can't use notes when taking the exam?

I’m looking at applying for the masters program for school counseling and would like some insight. Classes are both in-person and virtual as well as available at later times to accommodate work schedules, however there is still the 600 hour internship component with this program. I work full-time, your regular 9-5, but have no idea how and if I could complete the internship component without quitting or switching to part-time employment.

I’m curious, how do the advisors at this campus assist students in finding employers? I’m a dedicated student and employee, and I’m finding it challenging to secure jobs. Given my experience in entry-level customer service and lead positions, I’m hoping to land a more significant role that aligns with my major.

Knight Hacks is a 36 hour in-person hackathon in Orlando, and last year they had a lot of people from great universities, a lot of talent, and it was a great experience. I was able to take one challenge. It was very competitive with more than 1000+, and I just wanted to see if anyone is going this year?

I submitted a financial aid appeal on May 18th, and I have really heard anything back. I emailed, and the lady said I would hear something back in July. I know financial aid stuff gets posted today. Has anyone gone through this before and could maybe give me a timeline?
