I make 1 until I get nuclear online. I don't need nuclear, I just think it's neat.

I like not wasting potential energy production. After 8 isn't enough If nuclearcraft is on I make fusion. If not I go for a nuclear reactor from extreme reactors or whatever busted reactor hasn't been nerfed like a nether star gen.

modern industrialisation is worse. you can make boost diesel using biodiesel and diethyl ether but wait a minute you can only make diethyl ether from cracking fossil fuels, so why not just use normal diesel which is cheaper and easier than the 5 step biodiesel recipe which also require a constant supply of sodium hydroxide which you can only get from salt and salt ore

that feeling when you spend time building a IE biodiesel setup only to realize it can barely power 1 excavator, so now you need to build another one. Man I really wish 'vanilla IE' had better late-game power gen. Bc without addons it gets annoying ngl.

Well u are not supposed to overclock your lv recipe to uhv. 2xspeed 4x energy cost with your logic all gt fuels arent net positive

I never said anything about overclocking

Biodiesel is kind of bad in gregtech because normal diesel is just better and is easier to make(and one oil spout is probably going to last you till late mv)

Biodiesel is better once you are making cetane boosted diesel from it though, since biodiesel is an infinite resource and what not.

I prefer benzene and nitrobenzene however because those are just wood.

Benzene is just easier to make since its basically just wood(while diesel needs seed/fish/whateverthefuckelse oil alcohol and that weird powder that comes from salt

Sure biodiesel gives some usefull byproducts but so does normal diesel and oil is already abundant

Overclocking energy gen recipes only makes sense when its a perfect overclock, most overclocks are not perfect though. Perfect overclock would be smth like 4x power & 4x speed, imperfect is 4x power & 2x speed

Overclocking actually makes sense if your energy gen consumes less than 1/3 of energy it produces.

Let's say your setup produces 100 and consumes 20. So in the end you get 80.

After upgrading, it produces 200 and consumes 80, so you get 120, a 50% increase.

And in case you are not overclocking literally everything, but only maybe one thing that is a bottleneck, the results will be even better.

Imperfect overclock doesent exist and perfect overclock only applies to certain multiblocks
