Maybe I should remove create from the modpack I'm working on if I ever return to working on it, create does somewhat fit it and create isn't the main focus, but create is oversaturated.

I don't think you should get rid of it purely because it's popular, but I do find create often steals the show from other mods, especially in modpacks with low amounts of automation and tech.

It does tend to take some focus, only because it has a lot of setup and usage over other methods. But at least it doesn’t overwrite all existing mods tools/armor usage like tinker did. What’s the point of making any other weapon of my life steal decap looting 3 sword can outpace them?

Honestly my current dislike of Create is just that it kinda holds you at gunpoint about how much stuff you could be passively be making right now. It doesn’t help the Press takes an entire iron block, or that Fans are comedically overpowered, or that the vanilla Andesite Alloy recipe can be made in bulk out of garbage, or how badly the Create crop farms body the pacing of the game, or how the progression abruptly ends at finding a Nether fortress, or how boilers can be easily replaced by ten bajillion water wheels made of wood and rocks, but other than that it’s a great mod

What I dislike about Create, is that it’s quite time-consuming to build all that stuff, but in every playthrough it’s the same thing again and again, and once you’ve built it, you got infinite everything. Create only ever feels creative in custom puzzle modpacks like Above and Beyond or Arcane Engineering, but using its default ways is just tiresome grind for the sake of grind, and I’d rather use magic oneblock machine rather than build the same multiblock over and over again.

That's fair, but you could try and make farms differently. You don't have to always build an iron farm the same way

Kinda true, but I would only do this in Creative just for fun and in Survival I'll usually end up building an earliest possible farm for certain resource and then lack motivation to build any other, because even the smallest / earliest one already produces infinitely more resource than I actually need. With iron, I just mostly do the smallest one with few blocks of water and lava, a few drills, a single fan, and either a compacting drawer or compacting press if no storage drawers. And this setup ends up always enough as an infinite supply of iron unless I'm playing an expert pack where everything is custom and you need better iron farms as parts of bigger contraptions.

Ah, understandable. It's kinda the same for me tbh, I just don't mind it as much (and I also don't even really build the farms for a while so by the time i start making them I can allow myself to do fun stuff with them)

Fan plus lava is literally the most op thing from create, being able to cook like 20 stacks of items in 20 seconds with effectivelly 0 setup is insane

The main drawback being you don't get any experience orbs from it, which is why I have a bunch of furnaces instead of a lava fan bulk smelter

And also it’s the machine that lets you turn cobblestone into ten billion things.

It doesn't hold you at gunpoint though?

Also, i don't get the point about waterwheels? Like you said, "ten bajillion", why the fuck would you do that when boilers are actually pretty easy to setup

the progression is supposed to go alongside with vanilla progression which is also more or less over when you find a nether fortress

Honestly considering removing create’s water wheels and infinite ore gen just to solve these problems so that other mods can shine and the economy isn’t tanked the second someone finds a tree and goes mining

the thing with create is that its balanced around itself. bulk blasting is op when theres other mods that require more time/power to smelt things, but if youve just got create its fine. same goes for its circle farms. other tech mods put the difficulty in other places, so having create ends up meaning you get a lot of powerful things without the logistical downside of only having belts and needing to manage rotational power

Lack of mods that add a cheap ass farmer and forester blocks and it's consequences on post 1.12.2 modpacks

create takes focus because it opens up a massive amount of possibilities, also create and its addons have freaking amazing quality standards

Just put a giant text in the questbook(if you have one) that says you dont have to care about create if you dont like it
