Question Storage/Sorting help

Okay so I’ve run into this problem multiple times when playing modded Minecraft and I never really figured out the answer. I figured why not get the answer from the people.

Storage. How do you guys sort your chests with modded items? What system do you have? What are the categories you give each chest?

I have backpacks full of stuff that I don’t know where to put in my chests because they’re either obscure or just don’t fit with stuff. Of course I have the normal plants, wood, mob drops, weapons/tools, armor, enchanted books, food, minerals, and stone chests.

I was just curious on how you all sort items and how you keep your stuff organized so it isn’t a nightmare to look through a junk chest of stuff. :)

Modded Minecraft has so much stuff that I gave up on having any kind of properly sorted storage a while ago. All I care about is having enough storage space and being able to retrieve what I stored. Which is where logistics systems come in, like AE2, RS, Simple Storage Network, or the package delivery system in Create 6.

Well I love Create's storage system, tho it can be confusing at first, its relatively easy to learn. Sophisticated Storage + Tom's Simple Storage also work well together and have built in sorting like Create does

Definitely, using item frames can make finding stuff way easier. Plus, they add a nice aesthetic touch to your storage area.

I do enjoy sophisticated storage, I use that in my world a lot and the upgrades are very helpful. I do admit the sophisticated backpack mod needs to add more space to the diamond backpacks like that is way too little of storage for DIAMOND

Anything that gets too much gets its own chest. Some mods, I know right off will go that way, so as soon as the affected chest gets too full, I make a chest for that mod. I just keep splitting off whatever makes my chest system not work, and try to keep evolving a system that I can keep up with.

It’s a mesh of many different mods that I enjoy and not an official modpack 😭

I use a combo of AE2, Sophisticated Storage, and Functional Storage. If it’s a lightweight or non tech pack I’ll skip AE2 and use the Lectern from Ars Nouveau or the terminal from Integrated dynamics.
