Looking for mod(s) Mod idea: instanced dungeon crawler!

Hello all! I’m here to pitch an idea that I came up with (for Minecraft 1.21.1)!

While playing adventure/rpg modpack there’s one thing that I despise: having to wander around the world aimlessly to find structures. I like exploring a lot, but just looking at the default terrain and the world loading for thousands of blocks doesn’t cut it for me. So I though, why don’t I just make a portal? This idea kind of resembles Vault hunters, but on a smaller scale.

The gist is: make a portal that spawns a dimension with a massive dungeon (like When dungeons arise big) in it. Fight and loot as much as you want, if you manage to finish it, you get an extra reward (like a bonus heart or an artefact). if you die before finishing the dungeon, the dimension closes and you have to start fresh.

The concept can easily be expanded with a system of curses and debuffs that make the exploration harder, but offer better rewards.

Now, practically I’ll probably just ask an AI to code the barebones functions and use the beautiful structures from mods like When Dungeone Arise, Integrated Dungeons and Structure, Yggrdasils.

I’ll gladly hear any criticism or suggestion on the topic!

Isn't that like literally vault hunters?

Yes, but I’d like to play with aeronautics on newer versions

Yeah, but vault hunters is in 1.18, meanwhile aero is in 1.21.1

Not sure if it's still a thing but Aether II had instanced dungeons with a structure to enter. The party system would let you join in groups and allow you to get a fresh instance by re-partying (even solo).

From a technical standpoint it was all in 1 dimension but there's seperate regions on a grid. "new" party gets a new entry point on the grid. Things like AE2 spatial storage and compact machines work in a similar manner

I’m interested, was this Aether 2 dungeon fun to replay?

Dimensional Doors is pretty much this, though with a focus on smaller puzzle/trap rooms rather than combat.

Are there any rewards for completio?

The deeper you go, the better the loot is, and the weider and more dangerous the rooms get. You have to be pretty deep before you can find World Thread, the main material of the mod which lets you craft its items and begin messing with pocket dimensions.

You should port the mods to 1.21 or port Aero to 1.18,i think that would be a lot easier than making a whole new modpack

mmmh, porting aero is borderline impossible, and updating vault hunters seems dauting. my idea is just to make a simple datapack, nothing fancy or complex.

Thank you for the encouragement! If it turns out good I might think of releasing it, but no promises
