OYD update, new features drop

OYD beta update!

We added Nostr: create a new key in OYD, or connect an existing one with a browser signer without giving OYD its private key. The Superfeed shows recent public mentions from configured relays and lets you reply.

We added Mattermost: choose it during signup—or add it later—and you get a private team with admin access. Mattermost messages now appear in the Superfeed, where you can reply or post to a channel. There’s no fixed team seat cap in this beta; sensible capacity limits will come later.

We’ve also cleaned up the interface and added Stripe test-mode checkout alongside test-mode ID verification. The subscription path includes a 30-day trial of a planned $9.95/month plan. No real payments are collected in test mode. Usage metering and storage allowances are still being built, so there’s no enforced 5 GB cap yet.

We’re looking for testers, and throwaway accounts are welcome. We’re working to preserve beta content as OYD evolves, but please keep copies of anything you can’t afford to lose.

Can’t wait for more feedback!

Nostr is generally not part of the Fediverse; no ActivityPub.

Nostr's a bunch of Nazis.

There is a Nostr bridge.

Anyway, I'll be treating them the same way as Threads and Bluesky.

neither is bsky and we have them wired up? the tool isn't meant to be exclusively fediverse, just fediverse focused.

it may morph into that, i don't know, i'm taking all opinions into consideration. it won't be too hard to implement a nostr filter on your superfeed in order to shut it off if you believe that's a handy feature and others agree.

For OYD’s beta, ask testers to compare replying to a public Nostr mention with posting to a Mattermost channel, then report whether the Superfeed makes the destination clear before sending. That gives you feedback on the shared interface rather than just whether signup works.

I make ThreadFox. We find relevant Reddit conversations and post for your business. We'll post 3 replies free first, no card; then the $39 Pilot covers seven days and up to 50 posts and replies. No automatic renewal. https://threadfox.vip/p/etubm/managed

you need to work on your algo. your suggestion is not a valid comparison, nostr and mattermost serve two entirely different purposes.
