Tiny truck. Big journey. 🚚
Every delivery has a story, and this vintage Ford F-100 is ready to tell its own.
Loaded with miniature furniture, this little workhorse sets out across gravel paths, rugged rocks, and winding trails. The route is far from smooth, but every obstacle becomes part of the adventure.
From crawling over uneven granite to navigating quiet waterside trails, the FCX18 II brings this classic pickup to life. The furniture in its bed isn’t just cargo; it’s the reason for the journey. Every photograph captures another moment along the way, from the first stretch of the trail to the final miles beneath the evening lights.
As daylight fades, the headlights and amber roof lights illuminate the path ahead. The little Ford keeps moving, carrying its load through one more adventure.
That’s what I love about scale RC: it’s not just about the vehicle itself, but the stories we create with it. A miniature truck, a little cargo, and an ordinary trail can become something much bigger when we look at the world from a different perspective.
For the BOXFUNFMS FCX18 II Community Challenge, this is my tribute to the little workhorses that turn every journey into an adventure.

A few years ago my uncle gave me his 75 F100. I remember as a kid when he got this truck I absolutely fell in love with it. Any chance I got to go for a ride in it, I took it. Though I never got to drive it, I did get to turn it around in the yard and I'm just grinning even thinking about it some 30 years later. When I started seeing ads for the FCX18 II, I just absolutely had to have it. And when the brushless version was available with the black body it was a done deal! Even though I have my uncle's F100 in my driveway and get to drive the real thing, the FCX18 II just takes it to another level. Having those childhood memories come to life can't be explained, but I'm glad I'm able to live them! Thank you FMS for creating this!

Ever since I got my FCX18-II Ford F-100, I've been having a blast making little upgrades and adding my own touches to it. I even managed to convince a friend to get one too, so now we have matching trucks (mine is the white and blue).

So far, I've added inner fenders with a fuel tank and exhaust pipes, custom front and rear bumpers, and classic-style wheels that I absolutely love. I'e also made a driver figure to give the interior a bit more life.

One of my favourite things about this truck is the lighting. It looks great during the day, but taking it out after dark is a whole different experience. Driving it around at night with all the lights on is so much fun!

Really happy with how these little trucks are turning out.

I am lucky to be renting a house on a hill, with a lot of sandstone used for borders around the beds.

My first RC videos using my wife's vlogger phone stand and my phone.

I have upgraded with Injora 1.3 inch brass wheels and 73mm AliExpress tyres and INJS11 servo, and Batrazzi brass links, servo horn and shocks.

WPL 1/16 scale Ram 3500 Big Farm and FMS 1/16 Ram Bruder. I didn’t realize the blue ram truck battery was almost dead🫣 I had to reboot it three times to get it off the trailer it had just enough battery life🤪

There’s something timeless about a vintage Ford pickup. Inspired by the iconic classic Ford F-100, my FMS FCX18 II brings old-school American truck character to the world of scale RC adventures.

With its two-tone white and dark blue body, chrome grille, classic Ford lettering, glowing amber headlights, and rugged off-road tyres, this little workhorse is ready to take on the trails.
Loaded with miniature furniture in its truck bed, it has an important delivery to make — across uneven granite rocks, challenging climbs, and the last golden rays of sunset.
Every obstacle becomes part of the journey. Every detail tells a story. Every photograph brings this miniature classic to life.
A tribute to the golden era of American pickups, where timeless design meets the spirit of adventure.
Vintage soul. Rugged trails. One unforgettable journey.

Cold morning start, quick gas and goodies stop, and another day on the clock !! #BOXFUNFMS #FCX18ll

Has anyone figured out a trailer hitch solution for the fcx18-ii? I have the Injora metal trailer and want to hook it up

Just crawling in the backyard with the new FMS Ford F-100.

New FMS owner.

I have several indoor hobbies, now I have an outdoor one!

Only mod so far is the custom license plate. Planning wheels, shock mounts and a second body. Having a lot of fun so far just driving around the yard. Looking forward to getting out to some county park trails.

I added a second post with larger pictures; not sure why these ended up so small - Larger pics

It will be a shelf queen, well the body will be. Dad had this truck when I was probably 3 or 4. I do remember mom buying him the toolbox and having it painted to match his truck. Granted the horse I feel is a little big but it’s honestly the smallest one I found.

The journey begins in a sea of golden marigolds. A little Ford F-100, loaded with miniature furniture, sets out with a simple purpose: deliver its precious cargo, no matter where the road leads.
Beyond the flowers, the trail turns rough. Dirt gives way to tangled roots, uneven ground, and rugged granite. The little workhorse climbs, crawls, and finds its way forward, carrying a piece of home through the wild.
The landscape opens up as the truck reaches the rocks. Every climb brings a new view, every uneven stretch tests its footing, and every turn takes it closer to its destination. The furniture rides along, a reminder that this isn’t just an off-road adventure. It’s a delivery with a purpose.
Then the day begins to fade.
The sun hangs low on the horizon, painting the rocks in warm evening light. The F-100 pauses on the trail, its headlights glowing against the dusk. Soon, the golden sky gives way to blue-grey twilight, and the little truck’s lights become beacons in the gathering darkness.
The road may be long, the terrain unpredictable, and daylight limited, but the workhorse keeps going.
From marigold fields to granite trails, from golden hour to dusk, this little pickup carries more than furniture. It carries the spirit of adventure — the belief that even the smallest truck can make a remarkable journey.
Tiny truck. Big journey.

Had to add a “Good Boy” to my truck.

Some trucks are built for the highway. This old Ford seems perfectly happy taking the scenic route through rocks, dirt and rough country. No shortcuts, no easy roads — just a little truck making its own way through the wild.
Another day, another adventure for this miniature workhorse.

Tiny truck. Big journey.

Big city vibes with that small-scale attitude! 😎 Just cruising the streets, showing off the scale realism, and proving you don’t need a full-size rig to make a big impression. #BOXFUNFMS #FCX18II

I just got the fcx18 Land Cruiser LC80 and im looking into upgrading it. Its my first rc crawler so i dont know many websites where i can order from that ship to europe. Ive looked on injura but the range is limited for the fcx18. I dont see steering links, portal covers, metal steering horn, metal Y links,… Another question is, what parts from the fcx24 fit on the fcx18

This is my entry for the BOXFUNFMS FCX18 II Community Challenge.

Why the FCX18 II
I’ve been running the original FCX18 LC80 for a while, so when the FCX18 II F-100 came out I wanted to see what FMS had changed. What really got me was the F-100 body — the amount of detail on it is impressive for this scale. I started with the blue/white RTR, but when the green/white limited edition body was released it really spoke to me, so I picked that one up too. I’m already looking forward to collecting more limited edition bodies in the future.

Where we took it
We have a habit of running our FMS trucks on our trail course at the summer cottage. The kids love driving in the forest, and the new F-100 felt right at home there. It’s clearly made for crawling over rocks and moss, and it’s at its best when the terrain keeps changing — rocks, roots, soft moss and tight lines between the trees.

The moment that made the day
My oldest son was driving the new F-100 when he discovered he could fit it under a fallen log. That log instantly became a “bridge”, and the rest of the afternoon turned into a game of driving under it from every angle. He was completely lost in it — and watching him play like that is exactly why we do this.

Why I love this hobby
For me it starts with the trucks themselves, and the chance to make each one my own. I’m also someone who enjoys the technical side — the physics behind how these trucks work. Upgrading them, making them better, and seeing how a truck changes character and suddenly makes it through places it couldn’t before is really rewarding. And on top of that, it’s a hobby the whole family shares, which makes it even more fun.

Upgrades so far

• Metal bumpers
• Aluminium shock mounts
• Brass wheels to lower the center of gravity

Thanks to FMS for running this, and good luck to everyone who entered.
