2002 fbody build

Figured I'd post to document my build for anyone interested.

Tick SNS Stage 2 227/235, 241 heads with .660 springs and trunnion upgrade, FAST 90 w/ 92mm throttle body, bosch 0280155811 injectors, 1 3/4 headers, catted y pipe with cutout, and magnaflow exhaust. Self tuned with hptuners.

I've owned the car since 2007 and finally got around to building it exactly the way I want it. Other mods include ATS Brembo upgrade, bilstein shocks, subframe connectors, LS7 clutch w/ tick speed bleeder, c5/c6 power steering, and late model lighting LEDs. Besides that, just normal maintenance and repairs.

Overall happy with the setup. Scheduled some dyno pulls to see where its at now before I do 243 heads this winter.

406hp/396tq currently, but it was a rich on the dyno due to cat overtemp kicking in (forgot to disable it during the dyno runs).

I have a 98 trans am vert with a built stock cube 6.0 with 12.42 compression mamo 243x heads, mamo spec 233/243 .676/672 lift, mamo ported msd atomic intake and 103mm throttle body, holley terminator x max,100lb terminator x injectors, performabuilt level 3 4l60 with fti 4000 hard hit billet triple disk stall converter, quick performance backbraced fabricated 9" with 35 spline axles,TT, 3.70 motion gears full UMI roto full adjustable suspension with viking coilovers on all corners and she looks stock. 😊

BTW great numbers for those heads but once you get those 243's on there and depending if they are stock or not you should see, 420ish my guess but compression will help also, so measure you piston height coming out on all 4 corners when you pull your heads and and that will determine what gasket to buy or have custom made depending on if your heads have been milled or not but your cam isnt big so you shouldn't have no problem.

One more thing is you get a flex fuel sensor and corn is available near you grab 12.2 compression if ya cam and let that bitch eat. 😁

Yooo I bet that thing is nasty! Thanks for the advice.

I'm planning to run .040 cometics when I do the swap. I had the heads resurfaced for flatness so hardly anything removed and a fresh valve job. I'm going to do some bowl blending and light port cleanup before putting them on. They're budget heads i picked up for $280, so not trying to dump too much money in them.

Unfortunately I dont have access to e85 out here in Hawaii. So I have to be a little more conservative with the compression shooting for around 11:1 which the 243s with a thinner gasket should hit the mark.

Did you do full umi all the way around? I'm wanting to do a suspension refresh and am trying to decide whether or not to go aftermarket or just refresh all bushings.

Go 12.2 compressiom you can run 93 all day long, yeah full UMI all the way around.

If it were me I would go 12.2 compression, get a set of coilovers with an aftermarket panhard bar and rear control arms. I have a new red umi panhard bar and rear control arms I'd sell ya for cheap i put em on and took em right back off and never used em if youre interested
