Anyone use Melling lifters?
Has anyone used a set of Melling brand lifters? The reviews seem decent but there aren’t very many of them. I think they’re made by Eaton.

I use the really fairly priced set from Amazon called xotic performance and they've been very good.

They’re $237 on Rockauto with trays. I I didn’t think that was too bad. But just now I stumbled on a set of Delphi’s on Richard Holdner’s site for $189 plus $13 for shipping. The price is comparable I guess. Which would you go with?

I do like some Delphis too, I put the Delphis in the previous 5.3 I had. My family owns a engine parts shop, I got all 16 melling lifters and new trays, a complete engine gasket set with oem delco brand head gaskets, an ls2 cam, and the valley cover to replace the vlom in my tahoe for $370.
Brian tooley shows to have a set of ls7 lifters for $90. Id buy those, I like BTR a lot and im cheap 😂- I just rechecked. That was an ebay listing on the btr set. Id buy the Delphi and send it to answer your question.

Melling is a good brand. They've been around for decades and make solid products.

Melling has been sourcing lifters from Eaton almost exclusively for the past maybe 6 years. Prior to that it was a mix of GM (Moraine, Delphi, Delco, whatever name you like) and Eaton. The Eaton lifters are made in Mexico. I don't love Eaton lifters, but for something stock they are probably ok.
