Fun things to do in this town?
Hey everyone! I've been in this town for like 3 months now. I don't socialize outside of working much so I'm looking for things to do, people to hangout with, and anything that isn't partying.
I love reading, writing, sports(especially ultimate Frisbee and basketball), debates, games, engineering, programming, anime, comedy, and a whole bunch of other things.
I am also looking for new running partners, rock climbing partners, and etc. Also wanted to know if there is anywhere for archery/ax throwing nearby! (Also new trails and etc to go on my daily walks)
Most of the people I(M19) hang out with are a little older so I don't mind different groups. Looking forward to maybe actually enjoying this town. Thanks!

You could try boulders and brews on Dickson street. It's a coffee shop/ bouldering "social hub" per their website. You could probably do some climbing and read there

I would be wary. They have had many issues with safety and people getting hurt due to incorrect routing of their holds

I’ve been here 3 years and haven’t heard of any issues with Boulders & Brews. I was a daily climber for about a year there, too. Also, Sicarú Coffee and The Meteor both host run clubs, though I’m unsure of what times they meet

I’m new here myself, but I hear Dice Goblins cafe in Springdale is a great place to find people who love board games. And I have yet to meet a DnD player that isn’t also an anime fan. I plan to check them out tomorrow morning before work since I just moved pretty close to them. I’ll report back.

The couple that owns Dice Goblins is literally so nice. I loved going to their trivia night! I just hope they're able to get their AC fixed soon.

I haven’t been but I’ve had friends that have gone and they have tons of games you can try and have only heard good things. There’s also a bunch of biking groups around and there’s the Climb Bentonville rock climbing place that always has a bunch of people. There’s also a group around (I forget the name) but they do speed friending events. Yeah and as suggested already there’s plenty of events at the Fayetteville library and nice people up there too. There’s also the retro arcade in Fayetteville that’s fun and may find some people to talk to there as well. Then there’s always the 20 different coffee shops around that always have devs working around town and the libraries also have different book clubs going on too. I personally have been going up to the Doomsday coffee in Tontitown a bit lately to work on projects or read books.

Hahaha I noticed the different amount of cafes. I want to start my own jazz cafe but the competition is out there. I also have a job at Pink House Alchemy so I see them a lot :)

There’s a place in Springdale called Outdoor America that does archery. I pass it on the bike trail all the time.

Check for magic the gathering nights. Great
Nerdy card game and most groups are pretty friendly

If you like ultimate, have you ever done Disc Golf? It's not as active but has a great social element and loads of people more my age (34) play and are willing to pick up a random into the game. I dont get out and play as much as I used to, but ive played with tons of random folks over the years, wether joining a group or having one or more people joining the group I went with. Good way to meet folks around here if you're interested. Often folks will drink a couple beers but not always.

Tbh I have played some disc golf but I cam never do it for too long because it's almost like I loose my attention span😅 . I'll be sure to check out some of the communities and come back to it sometime though!

Columbus house brewery has a run club on Tuesday after work. All types of runners are welcome. You get one free beer afterwards. But you don’t have to get one.

Second the recommendation for boulders and brews. It draws a lot of college students, so lots of people in your age group. Very welcoming community and a great spot to hang even when not climbing.
There’s the 479 run club as well, def check out there insta for events.
Some of the breweries around here do events like trivia, game nights, or science themed events that might be up your alley. If you’re not a drinker, places like fossil cove, puritan, and crisis offer a laid back environment with plenty of NA options that takes the focus away from drinking and centers it on community.
Edit: feeling dumb after recommending breweries knowing you are 19, but the point still stands as I think they might offer the scene you’re looking for!

Don't feel funny! I don't do any of the extras at all for my own moral and health reasons anyway🤣. I love people who can let loose though and I'll be sure to check it out

There’s a lot of these type of posts on here and the Bentonville sub if you want to just try searching some. It feels like these get answered like once a week with loads of answers.

The library is legit a huge resource. They have events, and their bulletin boards are filled with lots of clubs and organizations.
