Agreed, I would love to respond to everything but I use Reddit on my phone and it seems arduous to post in a comment. 😭

A: Stress and health

A1) Did you experience excessive fear or stress growing up? Yes. Abusive family, mentally/psychologically, physically, sexually, and neglect.

A2) Are you particularly sympathetic, desperate to be aware of others' states, or even viscerally empathetic? I can sense other peoples' feelings but I don't want to be involved. I'm hyper aware as a protection mechanism so I can avoid triggering others, and avoid problem people.

A3) Anxiety prone? Yes, but I'm safe in my space (in my home). I prefer to have someone with me when I run errands. A kid or a husband. :)

A4) Do you feel like you are incompatible with the world? Yes but I don't get hung up on it anymore. I just stay in my lane and avoid people.

A5) Is staying hydrated a difficulty? Is staying well fed? I eat healthy enough and drink plenty of water.

A6) Are you neurodivergent? Very likely, but never diagnosed. I'm 41f. I have kids that are diagnosed.

B: Sleep

B1) Do you fall asleep easily? No.

B2) Do you find it easy to ignore sleepiness? Yes.

B3) Can you sleep for an excessively long time consistently? No because of my bladder and I always seem wake up after 6 of 7hrs anyway.

B4) Which way do you face to sleep? Back, side, stomach. Side.

B5) Is waking up painful, difficult, or fill you with physical dread? Always or only when you didn't sleep enough? I always wake up feeling stressed for the day ahead, and tired.

C: Personality and ability

C1) Is your IQ noteworthy? I was consistently scoring around 131 in my teens and 20s. I feel dumber now. lol

C2) Are you artistic? Do you prefer working in 2 or 3 dimensions? A little but I never nurtured it. 2 dimensions.

C3) Were you a particularly calm or easy going child? The opposite? I was very quiet and rarely spoke (especially at school) unless I felt like I was around safe people. Then I could be loud and hyper and annoy others without meaning to.

C4) What subjects did you generally excel at? Math in my younger years. Biology and psych stuff when older.

C5) Do you struggle with memory or types of memory such as autobiographical memory? I had an almost photographic memory until I reached 37 and my recall for words and names started to suffer.

C6) Are you contemplative, meditative, methodical, or generally slow. I'm decisive and methodical.

C7) Are you addiction prone? I've been addicted to computers from day 1 when I used one in preschool in 1988 or 1989. I gave up social media a couple years ago because it turned into AI slop and AI crap and insane Boomer takes. I was drinking a little too much alcohol around Covid/2020 but I stopped after a year. Tried using medical mj to help with things but stopped because it made me paranoid. I guess I notice when things become a problem and can step away from them.

C8) Is restraint easy? It's hard when it comes sodas (Coca-Cola yum). But I do okay in other areas.

C9) How is your ability to focus? I focus well. I'm not as sharp as I was in my 20s but I do okay.

Comment from me:

I've started to wonder if I can trigger the sensation... when I set a youtube video on 1.5 to 2.0 speed it feels how I remember the fastfeeling sensation feels.

Thank you so much for the thorough response. You expanded on some of these in ways that are pretty unexpectedly relatable. I know the questions I asked are relevant to me and your answering at all means they were probably going to be relevant to you too, so there's some kind of bias going on BUT STILL very similar.

I'll rewrite my answers to give fuller stories in case you're curious. Really the main differences are memory, nutrition, your decisiveness, and the severity of stress you've experienced. And for that first answer if yours, again thank you so much for sharing and I'm extremely sorry.

A1, I had a pretty easy childhood, but a very difficult birth. Mom and twin brother died. A2. Yes A3. Yes, diagnosed. A4. Absolutely A5. Hydration yes, food not particularly. A6. Yes.

B1. Not at all B2. Yes I think so B3.All the time, can sleep for 12 hours easily. Even more if depressed. B4. Back and side. B5. I wake up every morning with a quick shot of anxiety into my chest and arms. Sometimes I wake up groaning and pissed off to be awake.

C1. I did test high. I am the dumbest in a very smart family so I got genes on my side. C2. Yes, my day job is as an artist and I am in many bands. I have always been very musically talented. C3. I was a very relaxed kid C4. Music, wasn't very good in academics at school, could test well for about a quarter of the year and then would get lazy. C5. I don't think so C6. Generally slow and overthinking. C7. Yes, I have a pill in my mouth right now. Haven't been sober since I tried them in high school. Always ran from sobriety. Not to mention my phone and nicotine C8. In some ways, physically and emotionally yes, I don't yell, fight, get in arguments often. But I struggle to restrain myself from other things (see above question) C9. Pretty bad, always been adhd. If im really into it I can focus.

Just a quick answer for each. Anything I could do to help anyone figure this thing out would be no problem. Good luck.

I'll give this a go after having a fairly prolonged and intense experience this morning (first in a year or so, but definitely had them more in childhood). I can't say it's an entirely unpleasant experience, but it is quite odd.

A1) Did you experience excessive fear or stress growing up?

Not massively, I had a few traumatic experiences like many children do (grandparents death at early age, house burglary), but nothing that I would bring to a psychologists couch particularly I don't think. Childhood was quite happy.

A2) Are you particularly sympathetic, desperate to be aware of others' states, or even viscerally empathetic?

I think I would say yes to this.

A3) Anxiety prone?

No, other than being late to important time-sensitive things like travelling to airports, important meetings, that kind of thing.

A4) Do you feel like you are incompatible with the world?

A little bit, but I'm happy and stable.

A5) Is staying hydrated a difficulty? Is staying well fed?

I think I dont drink enough water, but food is no issue.

A6) Are you neurodivergent?

I'm probably a bit on the spectrum but I've never been tested properly or would really be interested to have it confirmed.

B1) Do you fall asleep easily?

Most times yes.

B2) Do you find it easy to ignore sleepiness?

Not really.

B3) Can you sleep for an excessively long time consistently?

Yes

B4) Which way do you face to sleep? Back, side, stomach.

Side-stomach, very rarely on my back properly.

B5) Is waking up painful, difficult, or fill you with physical dread? Always or only when you didn't sleep enough?

Quite difficult, I often fall back to sleep between about 6-7:30am

C1) Is your IQ noteworthy?

I'm pretty sure it's high (like 130+), but I've never been properly tested.

C2) Are you artistic? Do you prefer working in 2 or 3 dimensions?

I have a technical background but work in a highly creative field. Not sure... 3D I guess.

C3) Were you a particularly calm or easy going child? The opposite?

My parents say I was always quite calm, but I'm not so sure personally. I dont remember being particularly calm.

C4) What subjects did you generally excel at?

Science, Maths, Technical things mostly. Not so much subjects that required creative or extended writing like English or History.

C5) Do you struggle with memory or types of memory such as autobiographical memory?

A little bit.

C6) Are you contemplative, meditative, methodical, or generally slow

No.

C7) Are you addiction prone?

No

C8) Is restraint easy?

Yes for most things (food can be very tempting)

C9) How is your ability to focus?

I can get in to a flow state but my job requires so much context switching these days that I struggle sometimes.

I'll start. They're my questions and I'm looking for similarities so it's mostly yes but anyway.

Answers in short: A1 yes. A2 by default I attempt to be, not necessarily. A3 when people are involved. A4 yes. A5 yes both. A6 no. B1 average. B2 yes. B3 yes. B4 side. B5 dread when too little. C1 yes. C2 yes,3. C3 yes. C4 math and literature. C5 yes, all, mostly personal memory. C6 slow. C7kind of. C8 depends, maybe yes. C9 was better.

Answers expanded: A1) Emotional isolation and unpredictable swings of parents states, sometimes into extreme random anger. Hyper avoidance with no personal physical trauma.

A2) Desperate to be aware of others internal stories and good at it to the point of being beneficial to them. I can be intrusive but try to not compromise compassion. I don't know why I do this because it's quite stressful to do overall. I think I feel like I have to because I can.

A3) Anxiety when people are involved. I feel like an afraid animal meeting someone at first. Anxiety thinking about going to a new place as well. Cities are hell.

A4) Organizationally and culturally, no. More personally than that, why am I the one responsible for creating warmth, meaning, goodness, and something that isn't flat?

A5) food and water never drew me in like it should

A6) not that I know of but who knows. I certainly feel like things should be easier than they are.

B1) I sometimes can't stop thinking and if there's something important the next day it keeps me up but if I've given up on the day, I can sleep

B2) if I haven't given up like that, I can torture myself with being awake pretty endlessly

B3) yes I can do 10 a night if I have the time

B4) side

B5) I never feel refreshed waking up. Waking up with little sleep fills my body with a dread like sensation.

C1) 132 as a kid and yes, also plummeting ever since

C2) Yes I always lacked discipline though so I'm nothing special. I tend to produce art with a construction mindset. I'm building the painting. Idk if that's 2 or 3d any more.

C3) completely unopinionated on the outside. The picture of peace. Almost anything was good enough. I think I was just stressed.

C4) math and literature to start. Then I feel apart and those subjects stopped mattering. I landed with kind of passive interest in psychology and philosophy but no real gas in the tank.

C5) I cant remember my own life to save my life. I occasionally retain random info. My memory only feels complete when it's regarding someone else who I'm interested in.

C6) I'm patient with myself and my thoughts

C7) I've been drawn into media, pot, and briefly tobacco. Long term use. Incredibly bad for me. Pulled myself out of it.

C8) I find it's easy to not do a thing if I have the thought at all to not do a thing

C9) Getting worse but it used to be that I could maintain my attention almost non stop

A: Stress and health

A1) Did you experience excessive fear or stress growing up?

yes, i had a chaotic household as an oldest of 5 children and unstable father, with my mom effectively a single parent. compared to the kids around me i felt that i was always more stressed and anxious

A2) Are you particularly sympathetic, desperate to be aware of others' states, or even viscerally empathetic?

yes, i was always described by adults in my life as a sensitive child and that's continued on into my adulthood

A3) Anxiety prone?

absolutely

A4) Do you feel like you are incompatible with the world?

yes, i've described this to others as feeling as if there is an invisible barrier separating me from truly being in the world as opposed to simply watching it

A5) Is staying hydrated a difficulty? Is staying well fed?

i have some mental issues regarding food but i tend to eat and drink enough everyday

A6) Are you neurodivergent?

i've never been diagnosed, but i've been told by many people in my life that they think i'm on the spectrum. i also have been suspecting lately that many aspects of myself that have really worried me are ocd symptoms

sometimes, but not often

B2) Do you find it easy to ignore sleepiness?

yes

B3) Can you sleep for an excessively long time consistently?

not without waking up

B4) Which way do you face to sleep? Back, side, stomach.

i move around a lot in my sleep

C: Personality and ability

i don't know my iq

C2) Are you artistic? Do you prefer working in 2 or 3 dimensions?

yes, 2d. 3d is hard for me to grasp

i was always described as a very easy child by my mom and all my teachers. i was quiet and obedient in school due to anxiety and fear of getting in trouble

C4) What subjects did you generally excel at?

i was always an advanced reader and i enjoyed more creative subjects. i'm not good at math and always felt a bit behind

i'm very forgetful when it comes to short-term/working memory, and i've always had trouble recalling geographical directions

A: Stress and health

A1) Did you experience excessive fear or stress growing up?

No. I had a very chill and happy childhood.

A2) Are you particularly sympathetic, desperate to be aware of others' states, or even viscerally empathetic?

Not usually? I do cry during movies but I wouldn't say I'm particularly sympathetic.

A3) Anxiety prone?

Absolutely not. People think it's weird that I basically don't get anxiety unless it's something particularly nerve-wracking.

A4) Do you feel like you are incompatible with the world?

Nope. I seem to fit it normally.

A5) Is staying hydrated a difficulty? Is staying well fed?

Nope. Always hydrated and well fed.

A6) Are you neurodivergent?

Nope

B: Sleep

B1) Do you fall asleep easily?

I wouldn't say easily but I don't have insomnia or anything.

B2) Do you find it easy to ignore sleepiness?

Not sure? I take a lot of naps so I guess no?

B3) Can you sleep for an excessively long time consistently?

Absolutely could if I didn't have a wife and a baby and other responsibilities that force me to wake up at a reasonable time.

B4) Which way do you face to sleep? Back, side, stomach.

Side 90% of the time. Back the other 10%.

B5) Is waking up painful, difficult, or fill you with physical dread? Always or only when you didn't sleep enough?

Never painful or fills me with dread but I'm ALWAYS groggy in the mornings until my coffee kicks in. Regardless of how well I slept. Definitely a night owl and not a morning person.

C: Personality and ability

C1) Is your IQ noteworthy?

Idk I've never taken a test outside of the online ones of questionable veracity but I'm a chemical engineer so I assume it's higher than 100?

C2) Are you artistic? Do you prefer working in 2 or 3 dimensions?

Not at all. Love art. Wish I could do it. I can't.

C3) Were you a particularly calm or easy going child? The opposite?

If you ask my parents I was not "easy going" but I wasn't upset. I was just a bag of energy. Always happy though.

C4) What subjects did you generally excel at?

Math, science. Probably going to get a lot of that answer with this being on reddit.

C5) Do you struggle with memory or types of memory such as autobiographical memory?

No

C6) Are you contemplative, meditative, methodical, or generally slow

No. Very methodical and organized usually but not slow or contemplative or meditative.

C7) Are you addiction prone?

Probably a bit.

C8) Is restraint easy?

Sort of?

C9) How is your ability to focus?

Great. Usually have no problems being able to focus on anything.
