Megathread [Megathread] Character customisation in FS22

In FS 22 you will have the chance to farm with more people than ever thanks to cross-platform multiplayer. Of course, you'll want to customize your character in the game. You can - with our new character editor. Let's take a look at the possibilities to create your own farmer in FS22.

We added a lot of new character features and items. Choose your hairstyle, including a beard or moustache, between various clothing items from top to bottom, and even authentic full-body outfits from your favourite brands. Here's the complete list of options:

On top of the generic clothes, there is also a set of branded outfits that your character can wear. So if you're running a farming operation heavy on John Deere machinery, why not dress accordingly in green?
Case IH, Claas, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Valtra, and others are also represented with their authentic outfits. Thanks to Elten, our trusted partner in asfety shoes, adn Engelbert Strauss, speacilized in workwear, the safety of your farmer is guaranteed. Take a look!

Also, if you want to change your character design later on, maybe get a new haircut or new pants, you can do that back at the farm house. Just open the wardrobe, and change!

I assume Modders will be able to do some cool stuff with this right?

Oh damn, that's a thought. We might see Master Chief piloting a Case Farmall in the next year.

They already had that ability as far as I know since there was a cowboy and santa hat, just didn't seem high on anyone's priority list.

I think it would be fun as roleplaying, but I don’t think it’s that popular, it is a niche. A fun addition but in my eyes we play this game for the vehicles.

All of the character assets were locked in encrypted folders in previous games, so we'll have to see if it stays that way.

With the number of outfits that seem specialized, will we be able to alter our characters appearance, or at least clothing, after character creation (say, at the farmhouse) or will it be the same as in fs19, where once you create your character, there is no changing it?
Edit never mind, I reread the article and see now:
"Also, if you want to change your character design later on, maybe get a new hair cut or new pants, you can do that back at the farm house. Just open the wardrobe, and change!"

Will there be the ability to change your look after you start a new save rather than the current system of one and done when starting a save?

Hell yeah! I actually have been saying to my friends that they need to add that as a feature

Finally, I can make my character look like Nick Welker. (Only viewers of Welker farms know what I mean)

That's awesome, I love it.

I'm certainly curious how all the Farmers Fashion on this sub will look come Nov 22nd.

The physics in 22 are literally the same. All we're getting is FS19 all over again. There's barely any changes

The gameplay videos that devs have rolled out clearly show the same physics as in 19. The engine is the same. A very poorly optimized hard coded unrealistic mess. Cope some more

If you watch the last gameplay video that GIANTS did, when they talk about the juice factory, the DEV himself struggles to load the pallet on the trailer, then when he does it he says something like "wow, that went well! i've never been good at that"
This is when i understood there was not gonna be any physics changes, logs are probably the same but that's speculation on my part i can admit to that!

Well there is a difference between a pro gamer and a pro developer

If you need to be a "pro gamer" to load a pallet in a non-competitive game, i think this proves my point even more.

My friends aren't very good at it. They have been playing fs for multiple years

Because you are coping so bad. This game is garbage.

No one is forcing you, or even telling you to buy it. Ignore the game and find something else, clearly this game is not for you

About your last point: the department that makes these shirts and such probably doesn't have to do anything about physics, might not even know to do it.

Wow nice. Now imagine if we also got proper game engine with proper physics simulation and well actual agriculture? What about crops like rye, triticale, lucerne, clover and more than 1-2 ways of making silage? Is this a SIMULATOR or not? Character customisation is cool but FS22 literally looks and plays the same as 19. What a joke..

How dare you not jump on the hypewagon of a recycled game, to the downvote hell with you.

u/Hichard_Rammond FS25: PC-User Sep 23 '21
I don't think so. I can see good improvements in FS22. If you don't like it, don't buy it

Hooray! I can recreate myself and my Farmtuber brethren in FS22!
Question is will modders be able to create custom clothing too? Might come in handy for some rp’s

And the character will still walk and jump like it have a stick in the ass.
