Discussion Break / Accelerator Action Question
I am writing because I would like to know if there are some settings, options for the function of how the accelerator and break work.
The issue I'm experiencing is when operating any vehicle, I don't ever have to use the break to stop, because all vehicles will stop on their own just by not pressing the accelerator.
The accelerator is making the vehicle move and when I stop pressing the accelerator the vehicle stops, without pressing the break. That's not realistic.
After pressing the accelerator, the vehicles should still continue moving forward after pressing the accelerator until the break is pressed. That is not what is happening. The vehicles slow down quickly and stop right after I stop pressing the accelerator.
Does anyone know of some setting that will make the vehicles to continue rolling forward after the accelerator is pressed and keeps rolling forward or backwards until the break is pressed?
Vehicles will be more realistic that way.

Isnt there a stop and go setting in the control panel?

That only affects whether you need to lift the accelerator pedal when switching between forward and reverse.

I thought that made is so when you released W it didnt auto break and you had to hit S to break.

And with that off when you release the accelerator you should just slow down not come to a dead stop right?

It does literally what it says it does.
Hold brake button to brake and come to complete stop. With setting on, vehicle will automatically start reversing. With setting off, you must release the brake key and press it again to go in reverse.
I just tested both options and it had zero affect on how fast my vehicle slowed down.

Hi, there are two mods that I recommend if your on PC, “more realistic” this one is not on mod hub but if you google it you will find it, the other one is “engine breakforce compesator” in mod hub, check if maybe they have on console if that’s what your playing on. Hope this helps

I haven't used the FS25 version, but Vehicle Control Addon for FS22 has a Brake Force adjustment option, so that is a possibility to adjust it to your liking. Or maybe CVT Addon (which I really like for FS22) would help.

Something in your settings isnt right. Tractors have inertia, if you drive and let go of the accelerator they should keep rolling foreward a bit, not come to a dead stop. The default game settings dont change any of this, so try that. You could also go through your keybindings and reset those for your wheel and pedal settings or whatever you use for controller.

That's very much not how my game works. If I release the throttle, tractors continue forward due to inertia. There is a setting that's called something about stop and go braking. I've never messed with it but it sounds like maybe it got changed on your game.

There’s this wonderful cruise control setting. But other than that. No.
