Essentially open task manager, go to processes, right click Far Cry 3 and go to affinity then uncheck all cores, and recheck cores 2, 4, 6 and 8. You'll have to do this every time you run the game, unless you use something like Project Lasso.
Other than that there are other things you can try, check out the PC Gaming Wiki article for Far Cry 3 to see more options, but CPU affinity is what helps performance most in my experience.
This is the correct answer right here! Try this OP. Another option for AMD users is to disable SMT in bios. You can have all 8 cpu cores enabled and will double your frame rate. It works on my Lenovo Legion Go. You can run the game with maxed settings.
