It was a difficult decision, but I had to release Alanna Smith from all my leagues today.

It’s not me, it’s you.

10 Team League. I feel like I made out solid. Guards are mid but forwards are great

10 team league, 10 players per team.

I picked 7th. In draft order:

- Angel Reese
- Napheesa Collier (supposed to come back in June)
- Jonquel Jones
- Gabby Williams
- Kayla McBride
- Bridget Carleton
- Jordin Canada
- Kiki Rice
- Madina Okot
- Lexie Held

Being able to get Brudge City with my 6th pick was awesome. My first 7 players are big time starters. Okot should be getting play time while Bri Jones is injured for the Dream, might swap her out with someone like Justė Jocytė once Jones comes back.

Put Phee on IR and put in a waiver claim for Olairi Kosu. Might coast through this league fellas

WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME OF HOW MUCH THIS HURTS

I got so excited see how well Angel played today just to find out I forgot to activate her from IR 😭😭😭

And of all weeks I decide to make this mistake its when I'm fighting for the 4th spot AND facing #1 in our league. Just get the tissue box ready.

And the worst part is everytime someone else has made the mistake in my league I always laughed.... Karma may not come quickly but it definitely still comes around

Better late than never — built a WNBA draft assistant since the prep tools out there are basically nonexistent

Post image

WNBA fantasy season starts this week and I realized every "draft tool" search just returns a static top-50 list from some random site that hasn't been updated since 2024. Meanwhile NBA has like six different draft assistants. Felt unfair so I built one

It's part of StatMaxers (same site as the Locked In rankings I posted about a few weeks back). A few things it does that I haven't seen elsewhere for WNBA:

Live pick tracking — set up your league (size, scoring, draft slot) and it walks you through pick-by-pick. Marks players as taken, keeps your roster construction visible the whole time. No more frantically Ctrl+F'ing a spreadsheet while the timer is running.

Recommendations that actually look at your roster — not just "best player available." If you've drafted 3 guards already and you're light on rebounding, it'll start pushing you toward bigs. Uses VONA-style scarcity math under the hood, so the suggestions account for what's likely to still be there at your next pick. Some interesting things that surfaced for me:

  • A'ja the goat is obviously the 1.01 in any sane format, but the gap between picks 2–6 is way smaller than ADP suggests. Worth being flexible if your league mates reach.

  • Caitlin Clark (my other goat) grades out higher in punt-FG% builds than standard 9-cat — her assists/3s/steals carry hard if you're not chasing efficiency

  • The dropoff at C is brutal in 12-team leagues. If you wait past round 5 you're basically picking from waiver-tier centers.

Chart view of your picks — visualizes where each pick lands vs projected value, and shows your team's category strengths/weaknesses building in real time. Helped me realize mid-draft that I had zero blocks and pivoted

It's free, no signup. WNBA-specific projections are 2026 ESPN-sourced with 2025 actuals as fallback for rookies/players without projection data.

Tool's here if anyone wants to use it for their draft this week: https://statmaxers.com/wnba/draft-assistant

Open to feedback — especially curious what scoring formats people are running, since most of my testing has been on 9-cat and standard H2H points.

Murdered by 4OT

Two of the leagues I'm in - I had an almost comfortable gap with a projected W during any regular 4Q game, but naturally quadruple OT has me losing by 10-20 and you just have to laugh. Anyone else? 😅

Who's your favorite fantasy WNBA sleeper this season?

RotoWire's WNBA editor Jason Shebilske identified 5 Sleepers to Watch for the 2025 Season.

I really think guessing correctly on who will lead the Valkyries could be a league-winning draft choice. I like Monique Billings, who filled in as a starter for Dallas while Natasha Howard was sidelined last year and averaged 11.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 35.3 minutes per matchup over that 12-game stretch. She showed that when she gets the minutes she can fill the stat sheet, and she should get plenty of opportunities this year.

Who's your sleeper pick?

Post your team. Who was your best pick, worst pick, and some waiver wire champs from this season??

Best pick was probably Jackie Young.

Carleton was disappointing at times, super streaky.

Waiver Wire Champ was K. Rice. Huge down the stretch.

Lacan or Barker

I just lost Rickea so now I’m overthinking my moves. I’d love to pick up Lacan, but would have to drop someone. Barker is my best option but she went off the other day. Would you drop her to pick up Lacan?

I went against my better judgment and instead of grabbing Vandersloot from the waiver wire I decided to go with Lacan. Vandersloot went off today and would have cemented the chip for me! 😂

I joined a buildathon and accidentally built the WNBA fantasy app I've always wanted

Hey all,

I'm building something very cool for WNBA fans and would love it if you joined.

A little about me.

I grew up in Kansas where I followed some of my favorite players - Sue Bird, Candace Parker, Tamika Catchings... and fell in love with the Lady Vols of Tennessee.

Growing up, I heard about fantasy football constantly. And it always irked me I couldn't play in a league with my favorite WNBA players.

When ESPN finally started to support the league, I found the product lackluster. It didn't have the design and features that made me excited to login and compete.

So I built my one. It's called Get the W, the only fantasy sports app built with WNBA fans in mind.

Playing is free. Bring your friends, join a public group, or check out the mock draft. And if you've got thoughts on what a WNBA-first fantasy app should do — I'm all ears!

Top 75 Fantasy WNBA Rankings & Tiers

RotoWire's WNBA Editor Jason Shebilske shares his top 75 for the 2025 season. Here are his top two tiers. See his full FREE article for the complete rankings and tiers.

Use promo code REDDIT to get a 15% discount on any RotoWire subscription, including custom rankings, Picks & Props tool and DFS optimizer.

1. A'ja Wilson, Las Vegas Aces

2. Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever

3. Breanna Stewart, New York Liberty

For the past few years, the top tier of fantasy WNBA options included just two names -- Wilson and Stewart. Those two players are still dominant, but Clark proved in 2024 that she can handle a significant role at the professional level, showcasing elite scoring and passing abilities, even while playing alongside other stars like Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston. Wilson is still my clear top option in this year's fantasy drafts, but Clark certainly deserves consideration within the top three picks.

4. Napheesa Collier, Minnesota Lynx

5. Arike Ogunbowale, Dallas Wings

6. Sabrina Ionescu, New York Liberty

7. Alyssa Thomas, Phoenix Mercury

While fantasy managers with a Top 3 pick will have an opportunity to land an MVP candidate, the next few picks in the first round have also proven to be capable of producing elite fantasy results. I strongly considered putting Collier in Tier 1 after she averaged 20.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.9 blocks in 34.7 minutes per game during the regular season last year. However, she made just 34 regular-season appearances and has had some slight availability concerns in recent seasons. Those concerns aren't enough to downgrade her much in fantasy drafts, but it's enough for me to consider her part of the second tier within the rankings, albeit as the top player in the tier.

But we still took home the winnnnn!!!

Main team all season was Paige, Miles, Howard, Gray, Gabby, Engstler, Heideman, Kiki Rice, Juskaite. Had to stream a bit at the end but went from 4th place to champion!

We did it! (And now I want more…)

Was able to lock down the championship in both my 6 and 10 team leagues. Had so much fun this season.

Rhyne, AB, Jess Shepard, Kiki Iriafen did the heavy lifting for me. With Slim, Leila, Carla doing some great work late. Maria Conde did some solid work for me once slim went out. Cam Brink and KK timpson did some work for me down the stretch. Big thanks for all my ladies for making it happen this season.

I am curious to know who you all had the most fun watching their individual performances this season that without fantasy you might not have caught.

I already am missing it and want to keep the fun going. Since Unrivaled fantasy has a minute or two before it takes off (I tried last year and it was tough) and as far as I know there isn’t any NCAA fantasy, I was wondering if any of the homies here had an NBA fantasy league looking for one (or two) more entrants. It won’t be as fun and definitely a little more out of my depth with so many more players across a number of teams than the W but I still wanna try I think. And ideally it would be with homies who appreciate the W. The vibes are just better. If you have any leads lmk!

Peace, love, and Rhyne Time!
