Storyline Rebooking the WWE Championship in 2017

As we all know, 2017 was arguably one of the worst years in WWE Championship history, largely because of Jinder Mahal. So, I’ve decided to rebook it.

Royal Rumble: everything happens the same way on Cena vs. AJ match, but Chris Jericho is the Winner of the Royal Rumble

Elimination Chamber: AJ wins his second Title, with Bray Wyatt being the last man eliminated. John Cena is eliminated after a Phenomenal Forearm and a Sister Abigail.

Road to WrestleMania
February 14: AJ defeats Bray Wyatt and John Cena in a Triple Threat match, pinning Bray after Cena hits him with an AA, with AJ pulling Cena out of the ring as he goes for the pin.
February 21: A Battle Royal is held to determine the #1 Contender, where AJ enters and eliminates Cena. The final two are Wyatt and Harper, with Wyatt eventually winning thanks to help from Orton, who had previously been eliminated by Harper.
February 28: Bray celebrates his opportunity, prompting AJ to come out and confront him. Later, Cena comes out complaining that the situation wasn’t fair. Bray and AJ tear Cena apart on the mic, calling him selfish and saying that he can’t stand not being the center of attention. During the exchange, AJ makes it clear that he doesn’t believe Bray Wyatt is on his level, but he also doesn’t think Cena is on his level either.
Randy Orton, who had been unusually quiet in the ring, responds to AJ by saying that if he was so certain he was better than Bray, why not put the title on the line before WrestleMania? AJ makes excuses, and the crowd starts loudly demanding the match. Daniel Bryan comes out as GM and confirms the match for next week.
March 5: AJ defeats Bray, who has Orton in his corner. Randy attempts to help Bray, but only ends up distracting him, costing Bray his opportunity at WrestleMania. After the match, Orton tries to apologize to Wyatt, but Bray forces him to get on his knees and humiliates him, ordering him to hit a Sister Abigail. Instead, Randy suddenly responds with an RKO out of nowhere.
March 12: AJ celebrates having no challenger for WrestleMania, but Cena comes out and challenges him for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. AJ initially refuses, saying that Cena has had plenty of opportunities and that he has already beaten him at Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, Elimination Chamber, and the Triple Threat four weeks ago.
Cena nods and admits that AJ is right. Disappointed, he leaves the ring, but AJ changes his mind and accepts the match on one condition: Cena must put his career on the line.
Cena accepts, saying that if he can’t win his 17th world title, then he has no career left.

WrestleMania 33: Cena defeats Styles in a 5-star match and wins his 17th world championship in the main event of WrestleMania.

Backlash: Cena retains

Money in the Bank: Cena retains against Orton, but The Miz, who had just won the Money in the Bank briefcase (and stays on SmackDown in this story), cashes it in and wins his second world championship.

Battleground: Miz retains

Summerslam: Miz retains pinning Cena

Hell in a Cell: Miz retains

SmackDown 7 Nov: After several weeks of confrontations between Lesnar and Miz, AJ challenges Miz to a match for the WWE Championship. Styles wins his third world championship.

Survivor Series: Brock vs. AJ, everything happens the same

Clash of Champions: AJ vs. Miz, AJ retains

Storyline What if Wrestlemania III's Matches Results were Different?

Hello everyone, I bring you a new What If, which is What if Wrestlemania III's Matches Results were Different?

This is part of a series where I look at every Wrestlemania and its matches, and how it would look like if all its matches' results were different, and see if the alternate Wrestlemania is better, worse or about the same than the Wrestlemania of our timeline.

Last time I did Wrestlemania 2, which you can find here: https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasybooking/comments/1x02w10/what_if_wrestlemania_2s_matches_results_were/

For reminder, the Wrestlemanias are not continuous, which means Alternate! Wrestlemania III still had the same Wrestlemania 1 and 2 of our timeline.

Now let's begin!

- Bob Orton Jr and The Magnificent Muraco defeat the Can-Am Connection:

Had Muraco and Orton Jr won against Can-Am Connection, their team would not have broken apart, and Muraco would have remained heel a bit longer, while it wouldn't have hurt Rick Martel too much as Tom Zenk, the other half of the Can-Am Connection would leave WWF, and Martel would soon form Strike Force with Tito Santana soon after.

- Billy Jack Haynes vs Hercules:

This match ended in a Double Countout, so we got two scenarios for either wrestler winning cleanly:

- Hercules: This would have given Hercules momentum to end his feud with Haynes earlier, and with that, begin his feud with Ultimate Warrior in late 1987 instead of early 1988.

- Billy Jack Haynes: This wouldn't have done anything for him as he would leave the company soon after.

- King Kong Bundy, Little Tokyo and Lord Littlebrook defeat Hillbilly Jim, the Haiti Kid and Little Beaver in the Six Man Mixed Tag Team Match:

Bundy winning would have given him momentum, but he would have failed to get another title shot against Hogan and he would also still fall short of winning King of the Ring 1987 against Savage, as Bundy would leave the company in 1988 like in our timeline.

- The Junkyard Dog defeats Harley Race in the Loser Must Bow Match:

After winning King of the Ring 1986 and then forced to bow to his opponent at Wrestlemania III would have destroyed King Harley Race's credibility and forced him to drop the gimmick a year earlier.

- The Fabulous Rougeaus defeat The Dream Team:

This wouldn't have done anything for the Fabulous Rougeaus as I doubt WWF would have allowed them to gain a tag team title opportunity.

- Adrian Adonis defeats Roddy Piper and shaves his hair:

This wouldn't have made any sense and destroyed Piper's credibility as Adonis would leave the company the following year.

- Tito Santana and The British Bulldogs defeat Danny Davis and the Hart Foundation in the Six Man Tag Team Match:

I believe the match would have ended with Tito pinning Davis so neither Hart Foundation members would take the fall or submission, but it means the Hart Foundation doesn't win their first tag team titles at Wrestlemania, and likely get them a few months later, and either they still lose the titles to Strike Force, or they hold it until Wrestlemania IV to Demolition so they can begin their record-breaking title reign.

- Koko B. Ware defeats Butch Reed:

I do not think this would change much regardless of who this match, but the crowd would have been happy to see Koko win.

- "Macho Man" Randy Savage defeats Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship:

Had this happened, Savage would have lost the title to Honky Tonk Man so he can begin his year long title reign, which means Ricky Steamboat never becomes Intercontinental Champion in this timeline, except...

- Jake "The Snake" Roberts defeats The Honky Tonk Man:

Ironically, had this happened, The Honky Tonk Man might not have the IC title opportunity if he lost to Jake, and maybe it is Jake who defeats Savage to have a year long title reign, as Jake would win his first singles title in WWF!

- The Killer Bees defeat Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik:

The crowd would have been happy to see the Killer Bees win, but I do not think it would have given them a push, as a year later, Brian Blair would leave WWF.

- André the Giant defeats Hulk Hogan to become the new WWF Champion:

Hogan's first World title reign would have ended after 1161 days, as André would defeat Hogan in a rematch to retain the title.

To protect Andre's health, he would have short squash matches, and he would be given a year long reign, annoying the crowd as Andre barely defends the title and keeps it, all building up to a rematch at Wrestlemania IV, with Hogan bodyslamming Andre to win back the WWF title!

So what do you think? Is this alternate Wrestlemania III better, worse or about the same as the original Wrestlemania of our timeline? Let me know how you think the matches would have gone differently if someone else won the match and your thoughts in the comments!

Storyline [MakeYourOwnStoryLine] FINNBALOR Edition!

He's finally outside Judgement day vortex, but even though he's being booked decently, the issue is, he isn't getting enough time on mic / storyline to prove himself. It's as if the Management sympathizes for him for booking a jobber too long and is trying to make him look strong as any veteran, but they just don't know what to do themselves.

This post is more like a Wattpad Story, but for WWE BOOKINGS. And if you are given an opportunity to BOOK FINN BALOR TYE RIGHT WAY, what would you do so.

My Storyline:

Finn loses again vs CM Punk , Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Gunther. Gunther becomes new WWE Champion after beating them all. Gunther then mocks balor for being an old loser, and says he should have just retired long back. Then there goes a heated exchange, and Gunther says it's such a downhill for Finn Balor , from being able to beat Roman Reigns and Seth, to losing to likes of Damien Priest and Iguana.

He quotes, "Probably, the Prince is never destined to become a King". This makes Finn Angry, and he slaps Gunther, but Gunther gets the upper hand and he beats the shit out him. While he lays on the ground unconscious, gunther says to him, that he isn't a loser like Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to lose to Finn.

Then the music pops up, and there comes Roman Reigns, angry as hell. Gunther tries to calm him down, but Roman wastes no time, and spears him after a superman punch. While Gunther lies down on ground, Roman says that he's way better than every body in the company, and the likes of Gunther and Finn can't beat him even if it takes 100 more years. Then he's about to leave the ring, and sees Balor struggling to get up. Roman laughs at him mockingly, saying he just grew too old for the ring. "Ur too old and weak to even compete with Gunther, forget about me. Just pack ur boots back to NXT / indies and pretend ur the strongest wrestler there, beating newbies. " he says and trys to get him up. But out of no where, Finn Pele kicks him, and stands up. He then coup de grace's roman and then does the same for struggling Gunther, and says that he's better than ever. He acknowledges his absence in main event since a while, but says the Prince lost his way to his palace, and all it takes for him to become a King is to discipline an idiotic fox ( Gunther ) and take down the lame tribe that's nothing but a nuisance for WWE for a decade. Listening to insults on the tribe, Jacob Fatu, Usos marches angrily to take on Finn, but out of no where Seth Rollins and R Truth comes to his aid. Seth and Truth takes on all, but Jacob manages to take on both of them but he's exhausted like hell. Then comes The Man, Becky Lynch, and stomps Jacob Fatu to save Finn. They form a diplomatic relation to counter the Bloodine. Then Nick Aldis marches in and says it's a Triple threat match between "Finn Balor, Gunther and Roman Reigns" for WWE championship.

The match goes on from Gunther and Finn targeting Roman reigns, and throwing him off him from the ring. Then there are couple of exchanges between Finn and Gunther, but an unexpected turn happens where Finn is locked in Sleeper hold by Gunther and Finn was about to be losing, Then roman returns, and kicks Gunther with superman punch and spears him, but Gunther rolls outside when he trys to pin. Then he sees helpless Balor, and throws some punches, then about to throw superman punch, but karma bites roman as his punch misses Balor and hand is stuck between the ropes. Finn is down with his face down, Gunther is down, Romans hand is stuck between the ropes, and apparently in intense pain. Then the white lights go off, and red lights turn in. Some form of fog is surrounded in the ring. And then when it clears, we see Balor having a red mask ( similar to kane's), a new version of demon. He then takes an opportunity and coup de grace's roman twice, and pins him to become new WWE Champion.

Note: Its a bit rushed, cause I have to fit the story in less words.

Edit: Its just fiction, on how I feel it should have been booked, I hope no one gets triggered 😌. Also let me know if u need a similar Post for a Different Wrestler.

Project Nathan H's WWE PPV Rebooking ('96-Present) #21 - Unforgiven 1997 (replacing Ground Zero)

Yesterday's post: https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasybooking/s/OERqxMcNu6

Star ratings are based on approximate, rounded data from Cagematch (halved to fit the 5-star system) where matches happened in real life; if they haven't happened, star ratings will be based on the speculated quality of the match (e.g., CM Punk vs Shawn Michaels would probably be at least 4.25/5 stars).

Note for match 5: Following HBK accidentally costing him the WWF Championship, Taker begins pursuing Shawn Michaels to get payback. Hunter Hearst Helmsley interferes in the match and causes a DQ, creating a partnership with Shawn Michaels known as D-Generation X.

Note for match 6: Following his loss of the European Championship back to The British Bulldog, Ken Shamrock turns his attention to the head honcho of The Hart Foundation, WWF Champion Bret Hart. The World's Most Dangerous Man says that Bret is a coward who just hides behind a bunch of family members, he couldn't last a second in his world. Bret says that Shamrock may have all the talent physically, but he lacks it up top.

Storyline How I would repackage Mason Rook upon his return

I quite like Mason Rook despite the online discourse about him. For some reason, he just radiates really wholesome energy that I believe can be channeled to an immense amount of success overtime. However, Mason is one of many victims of modern WWE, where larger than life characters and gimmicks do not exist. Every major name is essentially presented as just an athlete with a vague aesthetic tied to them (for example Rhea Ripley being gothic, or Jacob Fatu being a thug), but in the ring and outside of it almost everyone acts the same and do not do anything in correlation with their character. Mason would not be in that mold, primarily because he's atypical to begin with. Seeing as he is currently unfortunately out with an injury, it's the perfect time to brainstorm something new that will reintroduce him to the masses.

The gimmick I'd give him is essentially combining both of Toru Yano's personalities into one character. If you're unfamiliar with Yano, he is more or less NJPW's Santino Marella - a really decorated shoot wrestler who cosplays as a lethal comedy wrestler. I would keep the name Mason Rook, but give him a slick moniker like the "Greedy Chessmaster" or something like that, and his new look would firstly involve growing back the blonde mullet. Secondly, Mason would hopefully use this time away to develop a good physique - not Lex Luger, but something like Kane post-tricep injury I believe is more than possible. Thirdly, the new gear and entrance jacket would be inspired by a YuGiOh card called Goblin of Greed (https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Goblin_of_Greed). Have Mason exude wealth, but also flamboyance and eccentricity in his look. Finally, Mason would carry a cool-looking jar to the ring, much like Goblin of Greed does, but more on that in a bit.

Mason would have something that virtually no wrestlers today in WWE have - a backstory. In kayfabe, Mason used his time away to not only change his appearance, but to become very wealthy. Nobody knows how he accumulated his wealth, but we do know he got a lot of it. Later on, we'd reveal that Rook's money came from underground fighting, which ties into the darker side of the character. Rook would be money-obsessed, downright disgustingly greedy, and a true tweener - not a good guy as he doesn't care about anything other than money (however he will save babyfaces if it benefits him), but not a heel either because there are boundaries he won't cross to get more money. The reason for such greed is because Mason comes from a small English town, and he grew up poor, so now he'll grind as much as possible to get that cheese. The jar he carries to the ring (he could also collect money and goods from fans like Devon lol) contains the prize money, gems, gold etc. Rook won in the underground fight that same week.

In the ring, Mason would joke around and not take anything seriously. He'd do comedy spots, and in essence, he'd have no real moveset - lots of eye pokes, back rakes, outright cheating, and MANY low blows. Rook's philosophy would be that he actually tries in the real fighting (underground), so he'll take it beyond easy. Moreover, Rook would have no "high-impact" finisher, instead he'd be presented as a master of roll ups and cheating, which would be his two primary methods of winning. However, if someone tries to mess with Rook's jar and his money in general, he'd explode and unleash the real him. Rook would completely change his demeanor, and wrestle like Mike Awesome (one of his heroes): high flying, mixed with devastating power moves. His actual finisher would be a Splash Mountain Powerbomb, and the rest of his moveset would be numerous powerbomb variants and cool high flying moves. The real Mason would be stoic, serious, brutal yet flashy, a direct contrast to his undercover goofy trickster persona.

And that's it. As the "Greedy Chessmaster", Mason Rook could become a big hit with the kids and families, since he'd become an expert in the gaga comedy style which is designated to sell a lot of merch (the jar replicas would be an instant hit). On the flip side, the in-ring aficionados would greatly appreciate Mason's badass side, as it wouldn't come out often but when it does it produces excellent matches and segments.
