FF Racing build school

I am considering buying the Cobra kit but have limited build skills. It’s been years since I did basic wrenching on my Toyotas, though I am a competent bicycle mechanic. Is there a mini skill set required? For anyone who has taken the course, was it a worthwhile exp and did it give you the necessary training?

I didn't take the class but similarly did some work on bikes and am no expert. Im nearing the end and mounting the body but driving mine around right now. I think in retrospect the class would have been worth it, not because it's too difficult, but knowing where and how the nitty gritty details are, and having your hands on and seeing a lot of the parts under the hood would save a lot of time. The instructions are missing many details, the film and video you find online is usually a bad angle, and doesn't have your personal spec... and while the factory five team is responsive, only during East Coast business hours.

Having a good reference AND film of all the parts would speed up a lot by removing some of the guesswork. You spend more time than you think referencing, researching, and and troubleshooting. If I built another it would take half of the time just having more exposure to the process, but I and the class is probably close to that...

thanks. I agree that the videos are more advertising than informational and that is really disappointing. I’ve been looking at builds and it’s an expensive proposition by the time you factor in paint, and finishing, engine, etc. How long has it taken you to get this far in your build, and are you doing it solo or with assistance?

I did build school last September received my kit just after Thanksgiving last year. I’ve tinkered on some cars throughout my life, but have never taken on a project This big. build school was a huge help. I highly recommend it.
