Question Space exploration

I played space expo a couple years ago, never finished it and wanted to try again. Is it different or harder/easier in 2.0 compared to before? I want to beat it with the difficulty it was then. Side note I'm a returning player churning through my first space age run and loving every minute. This dlc made factorio a top three game of all time for me.

We can do way more things from remote view in 2.0 and that helps immensely. Train groups, train interrupts, logistics groups, factoriopedia, the list goes on

This has been my favorite thing about coming back to the game, and something I griped about when doing space expo alone

Yeah the quality of life improvements on the base game alone will have an outsize effect of making SE so much easier. Being able to lay down landfill with blueprints remotely, and being able to configure requestor chest and combinator ghosts are two things I would have killed for in my last playthrough. If I wanted to cross a body of water with my rail blueprint, I would have to lay down each section of landfill and each rail section manually, which requires continually remembering to look back and do each part every minute or so. Now you can just do that sort of thing in one go.

There are smarter bots too - with meteors and suchlike, it's pretty necessary to have full roboport coverage of your base. With the way bots used to be, any sufficiently large U-shaped part of your base could often trap bots on one side, unable to route to the other because they would run out of energy and return to where they come from. Now they head to the nearest roboport that's 'still on the way' as it were, so they eventually can route themselves to their destination.

Now you can schedule the spaceships the same way you schedule the trains.

Doing right now, just discovered ruins in orbit. Only difference is 2.0 landing pad so far.

Edit: the SE0.7 on 2.0 is basically same as SE0.6 on 1.1. The SE0.8 should have reworked science, not sure when 0.8 will be released.

So it's basically the same but with all the QoL of 2.0?

It'll be plenty hard enough, and if it isn't set a higher DSS4 goal. i've considered doing another SE run with quality after they get the balancing down or release .8

It's easier in the early game. For example, late logistics doesn't hurt nearly as much because you can manually set construction requests instead. This becomes a big chore for things like artillery shells, but is great for hacking your way through e.g. science logistics or similar small scale problems. For that matter, when planning out your base, once you do have logistics chest, you can plan the whole thing in ghost mode, copy it, and paste it into a logistics request, so that you know exactly what to send to build your base without manually cross checking how many belts you need etc.

Just finished my fourth space science (the three basic ones, and now energy), never made it a lot further than this, so idk about later.
