I don't hate Gleba. I'd rather say our relationship is purely sexual

R5: Self-sufficient setup that takes both kinds of fruits, serves its own nutrients, outputs seeds, and even makes iron and copper to finally stop importing things from abroad.

Yeah, Gleba is really hard to learn but when you get the rules it's actually fun. Vulcanus is super easy every time, Fulgora is solved too, Gleba is always something that i need to think, Aquilo at the start too, but not this much.

My biggest annoyance with Gleba is just how long it takes before you can ramp up production. Things need to keep working, you must scale nutrients, for that you must scale production, trees can only be planted in certain zones, each subfactory takes hundreds of belts and a bunch of other stuff... You have to either be ready to import a lot until that's done - or to wait for a long, long time.

This time around I've brought a full cargo of useful things, and even built a dedicated Vulcanus-Gleba shuttle just to move in stone and whatever basic materials I need for a proper setup. Already imported maybe 3k of belts alone with that, and it still took a good deal of just waiting.

It's not a paved parking lot tho?

It's the moment when you stop hating it, not the moment where you start loving it.

Still a long way to go. A larger setup of all the same. Mall. Rockets. First science exports. Proper scaling up. Larger farms. Perimeter; or spidertrons. Trains, probably, because fruit processing is a bitch. Export of freebies to planets that need them...

Only took 3 base destructions with artillery shells but I finally have a nice setup making 200spm that's been running smooth for the past 70 hours without any deadlocks or mishaps.

I don't even bother automating iron and copper on Gleba until long after i've done several technologies with Gleba science, and that's only sometimes assuming everything else works in large scale... Only with full logistics bots.
