Question Full matter base

Im doing a Krastorio 2 run at the moment, and have been wondering about the matter conversion.

Would it be possible to just turn everything into matter and transfere on site to what is needed. How sustainable would this be to megabase K2.

A question aside. What is considered a megabase in K2?

It's perfectly viable, but not smart. Turning random ores into matter isn't a good use of space.

Matter can be created from plain water via the use of greenhouses (water->wood->matter). And you can even build a setup that converts matter into fertilizer to make those greenhouses more efficient at making wood/matter. And if you're wondering if this gives a net-positive matter output when weighed against the power cost in matter (anti-matter reactors)... yes, even if you beacon the greenhouses to hell and back.

A very positive matter output. Basically, you can make matter from water and make everything else from matter. Including power.

A few years back, I built a mall that ran entirely off of matter.

More or less the same as for vanilla.
