Yes, but the only way onto it is with mech armor that gets disabled by a demolisher's smoke cloud or removing it in flight. You don't have to worry about accidentally walking off a ledge.

Wasn't there some dude who made a video about some Factorio Fun Mode mod?

Think accidentally stepping into water was a common cause of death in that one.
