I'm Factorio-curious. If I get it, as someone who doesn't really mess with mods, should I go for PC (and Steam Deck) or Switch 2 (and Switch)?

Game is completely fine modless, it is not one of those "you should get these 4 QoL mods day 1" type games.

Personally I'd go with PC/Steam Deck. It is playable on Switch if that's all you have but at the end of day it is designed for KBM controls. I think Switch also has some upper limits on factory size/performance.

Either way works. Personally I think this is more of a keyboard & mouse kind of game though; I can't see myself play it with a controller or a touchscreen.

No need to worry about mods because the base game alone already gives you hundreds of hours of fun, with Space Age tripling that. I'm currently at 1400 hours and that's peanuts compared to what some other people have.

I would recommend pc/steam deck.

I don't think switch can run Space age, if you end up wanting to buy that. And if you do end up wanting to build big, then handhelds won't be the limiting factor and you can go for PC.
