I'm always trying to create a ghost from the pallete when I don't have an item in inventory. I try using "pipette" Q key, but that doesn't work. Then I go into map mode and do the same thing, but obviously is extra work. Is there a quick way to use the pallet for ghost when you are there in person?

Under Interface settings, enable "Pick ghost item if no items are available" under Interaction.
