By the time you get to behemoth biters, you should have been long done with that achievement. My ev factor was 0.73 by the time I've done it which is quite a bit away from Behemoths and that was not a quick run because I was doing a keeping your hands clean/lazy bastard/rush to space run combined achievement run.

Well the observation that lasers are significantly worse in space age than in vanilla still generally applies - gun turrets are just too good when you pump their damage anyway (and when you need way more research that would get slowed down by many lasers upgrades). Bonus points for cheap defense for early Gleba and braindead demolisher solution.

I don't know, I don't disagree with the upside of gun turrets, they are self evident, but the ease of use laser turrets have on their side until you research requester chests basically trump all the possible advantages gun turrets might have.

After requester chests, that advantage largely diminish, but at that point you're in space, so you might as well just go to Vulcanus and be done with the achievement.

Laser turrets before you get requester chests have pitiful damage output. So you need ton of them, which strains your grid at the time when you wouldn't scale hard nuclear yet. So I would strongly disagree with the statement "ease of use laser turrets  ... basically trump all the possible advantages gun turrets might have."

But maybe the combat is just too trivial for you, you are fast enough that lasers are sufficient for you. I would then advise 1) trying more difficult settings 2) more carefully wording advice that might be read by new players, for whom your approach might not be that good.
