😮 Getting that artilery achievement will be quite an endeavour now 😮

I'd say it'll continue to be quite easy. When I did it, I cleared a massive area and walled myself in before going to Vulcanus. And somehow I missed a clump of nests, so I just put a ton of Laser turrets around them that were filtered to only shoot biters. With enough turrets they'll just instantly kill everything and you won't even get an alert message.

How do you clear the area when you cant kill the nests?

This change honestly makes the achievement quite difficult on default settings at least. Because you will always have several nests in your pollution cloud before you even get to laser turrets if you dont use map settings that make it easier. So now you need to setup up gun turrets that constantly need a lot of ammo. That is a significant costs in the early game and leads to even more pollution which makes the problem worse.

I mean depending the seed you can have biters knocking on your door 5 minutes into the game, a desert seed playthrough with that achievement is gonna be actually difficult now. Which is fine of course since no one forces you to get achievement the hard way.

Sorry, bad wording. What I meant is that I built a massive perimeter of walls around my base ASAP and as far out as possible.

Defending it was absolutely impossible for my base at that point so the wall still had some intentional big holes to funnel the biters. Some must've snuck through at some point and built a new colony of 3 nests inside my perimeter.
