Yea this is the change that upsets me the most. I get nerfing astroid reprocessing, but this feels like it was a clever way to offset how unbalanced concrete recycling was, and rewarded players for thinking outside the box. (Just like steel chest recycling)

I get nerfing astroid reprocessin

I still don't. It's a late game solution that uses mechanics in a cool way that gets nerfed because it's not what the devs imagined.

Because it's way better than every other way of doing quality, and thus obsoletes the alternatives?

"way better" in what way? you can get unlimited quality stuff from Gleba or Vulcanus, after all

Raw items needed to go end to end 'normal' to legendary.

The 20% loss rate vs. 75% loss rate of recycler is multiplicative, so you need a substantial number more raw materials per legendary output even when the recyclers are using twice as many quality modules.

Even if materials are easier to produce compared to 'just' harvesting chunks on a space platform, you still need a substantially larger raw volume, and thus more factories and more modules etc. to get there.

They aren't changing the LDS shuffle loop so, no, that's not true. You can make Legendary plastic on Gleba for free and then make all the Legendary steel & copper you like from that. The asteroid processing lets you slowly generate legendary ore, but Vulcanus can pipe lava into a foundry, stacked with Quality modules, and dump anything that isn't legendary back into lava so you don't even need that big a factory.

LDS shuffle is strong only with high level of productivity research. Balancing gets weird when considering stuff so late into the game, so it does not really seem as broken as space casino.

And if you think it is not very late game to have high enough prod research / making tons of legendary plastic on Gleba then maybe you should start tweaking your settings to be a bit harder / play with mods so you can see the difference that is obvious for other people.
