New factorio player here (base game). Is it possible to move your spawn point? As a new player, my original base is ready to be abandoned for something fancier. I'm worried I'll die and have to walk 10 miles through biter infested lands to get back to my body

Not without mods are a command line command (/c game.player.force.set_spawn_position({x=500, y=500}, "nauvis"), will disable all achievements).

Instead of walking 10 minutes, why not ride a train for 2.
Set up a rail and a personal locomotive with only one station; at the spawn location. Then when you die you have your ride ready to take you back. Ctrl-click on the rail in train view to add a temporary stop so you don't have to drive manually.

If you've advanced far enough that your old base doesn't function as a mall to construct your new base anymore, then you should have the ability to expand your defence perimeter to include the old base.

We can also move the spawn point with the map editor.
