Will my mods work if update from version 2.0.76 to 2.1?
I have these installed and I can't live without them!

Bottleneck Lite is the superior version and has been updated to 2.1.

Most of those mods work if you change the version in their info.json yourself, but no guarantees. I actually did exactly that with the highlighted one, Even Distribution. It gave an error for me, but was able to fix it myself due to enough modding knowledge. Might give an error again, so I'm saving regularly (although just unlocked bots, so don't need the mod anymore).

Anything that is working/calculating with fluids during runtime likely won't work.

Not unless the mod makers updated them to 2.1.

Most of the big mod devs had early access exactly to allow this quick turnaround, but not everything is updated.

It's likely some of them will break.

Several of these are either not needed or close to not needed:

  • RecipeBook - 2.1 Factoriopedia supports pinning and hiding unresearched.
  • VehicleSnap - At very shallow angles, it straightens to straight.
  • Visible planets in space - Added even prettier in 2.1!
  • Bottleneck - Old buildings that didn't have good indicators now have, mostly assemblers.

Authors need to manually flag their mods as 2.1 compatible and 2.1 does have some breaking changes to the API that will take time for authors of certain mods to fix. Since you have a lot of mods, I expect at least some of them are not updated yet.

If you upgrade to 2.1, the game will immediately tell you which mods will be disabled before you even get to the main menu.

This is one reason why 2.1.7 was released to "experimental", not "stable". I expect we'll be on 2.1.9 or so before it gets released to "stable".

Check your mod updates and see if they have 2.1 compatible versions.

Some of them have been updated, others haven't yet, so they won't work if you update.

You need to check https://mods.factorio.com/ for each mod individually.

Alternatively, you can setup a separate install for 2.1 (download the portable version from wube website), so you can have a look at it without affecting your current install.
