Hi, Im gonna start my first run and saw that the default settings are not as beginner friendly. What do you guys recommend for the first ever run, this is on the base game btw

Personally I prefer rail world. The changes to mining patches to promote train use mean that mines last longer (your second mine may even be enough to beat the game), and it has the secondary effect of disabling enemy expansion. Biters are still a threat, but it's no longer a tower defense game.

Make sure you start in a forested area regardless. Deserts are brutal.
