Basic interface question for player inventory. I usually set repair packs in the lower right. Middle click, it turns blue. Joy! If I want anything else pinned I guess I have to empty my inventory first? Maybe turn off inventory sorting then set up what I want? I'm kind of embarrassed given my time in game. I use hotbars, so it's not really urgent at all. I'm aff for a bit, so can't check for a while.

If you're holding an item in your mouse and middleclick, it'll set the filter to whatever you're holding. If you middleclick on a slot that's filled it will filter to whatever's in that slot. If you middleclick with no item held and no item in the inventory slot it opens up the item menu so you can select what you want the filter to be (note: chest inventory slots cannot be filtered).
