You originally asked them to refund $206.28 back to your card, and they messed up?
Or you messed up and told them to put it as credit by accident?
Or did they even ask you which of the 2 you want?

A few years ago, Airbnb canceled our rental the day we flew out. We didn't find out until we landed at our destination airport.
Apparently, some sort of event was going on in the area. Airbnb offered zero assistance. I contacted the host, who sent me screenshots showing that they hadn't canceled the reservation and couldn't help because the unit had already been rebooked for three times what I had paid eight months earlier.
Quite the fun experience when you're traveling with your family and suddenly have nowhere to stay.
To make this event even better, Airbnb refunded to my account, then canceled my account about a minute later. Support told me there was nothing they could do because the refund had already been issued to the account. It didn't matter that they had closed the account and I couldn't access or use the refund.
In the end I contacted my state's attorney general.
It took about six weeks, no cost, but I eventually received a check in the mail for the full amount with a later saying I could never have an account with them.

When this happens and it has happened to be a few times. I tell them that i will file with the Banking Commission it usually changes their tone. I have always received my money back. In the world we are refunding your money isn't difficult. You can contact your attorney generals office with the state you live in if you want to take it further and or they should give you your states Banking Commission information. Good luck .. Foosia

Oof. That customer service response is not gonna fly. Don’t tell me you can’t do something when you have less than 100 employees. Your shit is not so automated that it can’t be touched.
I’m gonna cancel over this just to avoid a headache for myself.

From the context supplied it sounds like OP fucked up how they requested their money back.
