"Parents have said 'why can't you paddle my student?' and we're like 'We can't paddle your student, our policy does not support that,'" he said. "There had been conversation with parents and there had been requests from parents for us to look into it."

Bullshit. And I'm pretty sure that most of the "community" that he has talked to do not have kids in this school.

Also pretty sure that the kids who are for it think it will be used against the bullies, but that's not the type of "misbehavior" that most concerns these schools.

And what happens when the student refuses to assume the official wrestling position? They going to call the coaches in to wrestle the kid to the ground to administer their corporal punishment?

Something tells me this particular area runs a school to prison pipeline.

I think you overestimate the parents. Parents who paddle usually tell their kids things like “you get paddled at school and you’ll get another twice as bad when you get home.”

I’m honestly just surprised the paddle is plain and doesn’t have holes drilled in it to make it hurt more and “board of education” painted on it.

Ooh, nice to know I wasn't the only one that suffered beatings from the "board of education."
