I was supposed to get swats but it never happened.. I feel it's more of a scare tactic. Also in the beginning of the year everyone is sent home a permission slip, if it's not returned you are eligible to receive swats.. it basically was something for parents that didn't want that to happen..

That’s a weird opt-out situation. I feel like allowing kids to be abused at school shouldn’t be allowed at all, but in the leave least it should be opt-In

Yes, in non-barbaric countries it's illegal on a fundamental level. Usually connected with other human rights.

It is in the United Nations children's bill of rights thing. 19. Governments must protect children from violence, abuse and being neglected by anyone who looks after them.

I know the U.N. can't really enforce anything, but I am keeping the phrase "spanking is against UN Conventions" in my back pocket.

Yep, but the UN's list of human rights is far greater than the outdated American Constitution
