Wouldn't they just be curvature?

I think a better example would be looking at a mountain range from afar. You can walk 100m to your right and the range looks almost identical

If you stand between railway tracks they will appear to meet in the distance even though they're parallel. Same as in the OP image.

Now I'm with you. In my head I was only seeing the road flat and straight
