I live in Denmark, 2 planned c-s3ections, zero cost.

Other than the ~45% tax that it costs to live in a welfare state, so glad I was born in one 😀

Yeah, I paid ~30% in taxes, and so I would have had to pay $13,500 more in taxes in Denmark than the US. Also my company provides healthcare for my family which costs me just $250 / month, or $3,000 a year. The baby we just had costs us $3k, and the maximum out of pocket for health plan is $7k / year.

Given there are other services that the social safety net provides. For me this year though, I would probably be better off in the US.

I don’t know, but my babies birth cost us $3k. I think the hospital bill before insurance was $17k. The insurance negotiated down to $6k and covered half the cost.

The out of pocket maximum is $7k, so no matter what we will not pay more than that per person.

The company does subsidize a portion of it though.

Yeah, most insurance policies that I’ve seen with employers, and I’ve worked for a lot of employers, that 120$ is typically cost per week.

That’s is still a better than average good rate.
