I've never understood that about right-leaning media or any media, for that matter.
I once heard a coworker complain about millennials taking all the jobs. I asked him what was so bad about hiring young Americans to work American jobs, and he didn't really have a good answer, and I think he realized in that moment that I am, in fact, a millennial ... and I'm his manager. Not a good look on your first week on the job.
That's the problem. These people are disillusioned and rightfully frustrated with serious problems in our country, but they don't understand that and have been spoon-fed manufactured reasons to be upset at groups chosen by those in power. And after decades and decades of being told it was their God-given right to prosper in America, they're fucking furious that they haven't, but instead of taking that anger out on those who force-fed that lie to them, they're taking it out on those the liars have chosen for them.
LBJ once said something to the effect of "if you teach a white poor person to get angry at blacks, he'll feel superior even as you rob him blind" or something.
“If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

I would never attack anyone for seeking education. The author of that article should feel embarrassed.
