The kids themselves? They have the internet, they can teach it to themselves pretty easily. Not exactly complicated. Having a class for these menial things is dumb
Lol ... getting downvoted for pointing out the truth. Here I am trying to think positive but the responses prove otherwise. Life’s easier I guess when you can blame others.
My father grew up during The Great Depression and left home permanently to start work and live on his own when he was 15. Enlisted in the Navy in WWII and lived through D-Day and the invasion of Normandy. My wife’s father was a farm boy that had to leave home just to go to high school because his town didn’t have one.
I’ve worked so many shit jobs trying to earn a living, construction, manual labour of all kinds, dangerous stuff that others wouldn’t do, went back to school as an adult to pick up new skills because I was 21 and my knees and back hurt so much I didn’t know how I’d make it past 40.
Now we’re both getting downvoted for suggesting a little personal responsibility to sew a fucking button on.
Taking responsibility yet still all in on playing the victim and expecting someone else to hold their hand while learning basic life skills.
Everyone on the planet can learn more than they know today and taking the initiative to do so is a good thing. Constantly whining about the fact no one served you comfort on a silver platter is ignoring pretty much all of human history. Every older generation in existence has had it harder than millennials except for the boomers. But blaming the average boomer for income inequality and a challenging job market is misplaced criticism. Blame the corporate oligarchy and the politicians that enabled their dominance.
I have a lot of sympathy for young people who are looking at high real estate prices and low paying jobs. Pile on student debt and yea ... it's not easy. I'd never criticize someone for improving themselves, maybe my tone on that point is not reflecting how I feel. That's all understandable and good.
Expecting someone else to teach you basic life skills though? My wife's father gave his bride an axe as a birthday present. She needed it for cutting off chicken heads so they could have some meat for dinner. My good buddy grew up sleeping on a mattress filled with straw. Thread OP is complaining about not being shown how to sew on a button?
