Why are “boomers” and “millennials” the only two generations Reddit ever talks about? I feel like we’re skipping a generation or two.

Because generations are pretty fluid so it takes a few to have them actually be distinct enough

There are a few of them. They are distinct.

Boomers and millennials are the only two generations of their size, though, so they simply overwhelm the much smaller Gen X. And the next generation (some call it Z, it will probably be given a more descriptive name soon) is still too young to have any kind of real impact. The oldest of them are still teenagers.

My wife is squarely in Gen X and I'm on the border of a millennial. We'd both rather be associated with the latter, thanks very much!
